Miami Udfa Signed Thread

Not sure any of them will start but I can see some of them making the final 53 this year and by some I mean maybe 4 or 5?

Starters? Maybe on special teams, but O or D? No. Several will make the team due to the lack of depth. A few might crack the two-deep because we are that bad at several positions. But starters are unlikely unless we have some catastrophic camp or preseason injuries.
I agree. Williams tho if he can stay out of trouble has a real chance to play on offense. We can use a big WR like him.

Whoa signing a long snapper Wes Farnsworth?? Flores really does want every starter to compete for their job.

Calhoun, Hanks, Watson, Needham, Ledbetter all have a very good chance of making the team. Prestin William's is a legit prospect, who could be a real star, if he cleans up his act. He's certainly with the right group of coaches. Just hope he doesn't turn out to be Josh Gordon 2.0? This could be a very good UDFA haul for Miami. Credit to the F/O for convincing these kids to come to Miami. Looks like Miami outbid, Washington for Watson. Great job!! This is the type of moves you get when your house is in order. Marvin Allen and Reggie McKenzie were solid hires and could be responsible for helping sign these kids?

I don't see that. Which undrafted FA are you seeing as a day one starter?

I don't know enough to name them, but I suspect the receiving core is about to get a transfusion of new players that will begin their careers in limited backup roles with as many as 2 or 3 breaking into the starting rotation by the end of the year.

While I'm at it I predict a few of the UDFA defensive guys from this draft will be playing for 2 or 3 years on the defensive side as depth and specialty players, until we have developed a solid cadre on the defense. I will make no predictions for the offensive line, since that is a unit that once established tends to play together throughout the game.

It will be interesting to see how many of our UDFA's from this draft survive to make the team and then stay on it for a few years. This may be the most definitive action the new staff will have taken to stabilize the team as a competitive force for winning the division.

When do we get to see tape of today’s picks and udfas?

I’m not sure why I care everything this year rides on Rosen’s development or lack there of.

If Grant and Wilson are healthy come September, I would suspect Stills, Parker, Grant and Wilson are locks. The UDFA receivers will have to fight with Brice Butler, Isaiah Ford and Ricardo Louis for one or two spots. Another thing to remember is Miami would also be a prime option for any receiver released at the end of training camp by another team or other team's practice squad receivers. I figure at best one of the udfa's make the roster and the other stays on the practice squad. It could come down to who has a better camp Williams or Ford.

Didnt we also pick up someone from the AAF??

Depends how many we keep but I'd think Butler has the top shot at the 5th spot, Ford/Louis battling for 6th. Everyone else vying for the that 6th spot, but likely practice squad bound

It's nice to see the excitement but I'd temper it somewhat so as you don't have an other end of the spectrum crash. We're talking UDFAs. Nonetheless, the surplus of youth is invigorating.

Yes, they also have Reece Horn, but I'm too quick to dismiss him for some reason. I agree Butler will be the most ready to play receiver at the back of the roster, however with the team focusing on building for 2020 and further down the line I'm not sure Butler will be worth keeping around in a developmental situation.
