Curious what you guys think?

Reasons for encouragement: a Legit Elite LT in Tunsil, despite our Oline being bad we have 1 more piece than Rosen had last year, add in the rookie Deiter and some blocking TEs I think he will have slightly better protection, Speed on offense (Wilson, Stills, Grant, Drake, and Gesicki) are all guys with game breaking speed at their positions Cardinals didn’t have that.

Reasons for Concern: In his Rookie year Rosen had Larry Fitzgerald to lean on, even though he’s not a dynamic player he’s a great leader and a savvy veteran player whose more established and has better hands then anyone we have currently, Cristian Kirk was another young dynamic WR who looked pretty promising before getting hurt, and David Johnson in the backfield former All-pro caliber Rb that other teams had to Gameplan for, he can Run and Catch and is better than any play-maker we have.

I say no. This has to be the worst edge rush talent in football and it might be the worst o line talent combo in football too.

Which means guys are really gonna have to play above their heads in 19 for this to not be eye sore level.

It’s kind of my concern. You gota give this kid a fighting chance

OL is always a concern.

I think we are good to possibly very good at our skill positions. Saying that, we need a big body reciever. And we need Gesicki to do more than tackle himself.

The real problem has been the OL and at this moment we don't even know who all the starters are. So this is the biggest question mark for me. I think this stunts our evaluation of Rosen some.

Josh Rosen has to feel like the unluckiest SOB on the planet to go from that situation to this one.

However, as you can clearly tell by now, something wasn’t right about his situation in Arizona. The brass obviously never believed in him to begin with. Not even when they traded up for him. He wouldn’t be in Miami if they did.

To me, that has to be what changes the most about his situation. He has people that might believe in him him now. Talent is not his issue. But he has to forget about colleges and their shoe deals and set aside his dislike for the President and whatever other things he can’t control that he lets get under his skin - and focus on being a football player and being the best QB and leader he can be. You can be great, son. But you have to work. Just saying you're great doesn't make you great. They all say it. You have to want it more than everybody else does. That's what makes you great. Nobody can make you want it. Not Brian Flores or Chris Grier or Bill Belichick or Vince Lombardi. Only Josh Rosen really knows if he wants it more than everybody else.

You get a clean slate. A cleaner slate than any other QB that I can remember ever having. If what you just experienced doesn't make you want it - then you just don't want it.

Take the lessons you've learned as a young pro, and go be great. They're all watching you and they all don't believe you can do it. Let that be what gets under your skin. This you can control.

Right now we look as bad or worse on OL.
But this is where coaching will come in. We will see what the Pat's have done for years. What might look like the worse OL will be turned into a serviceable OL. NE has made a living of turning supposed substandard talent into serviceable players because they were coached up to fit the system.

I think beginning next year we will see what difference good coaching does. I also would not expect us to make big splashes in FA in the future. The days of unneccessary big spending are over. I know that seems boring but for now, until proven otherwise, you have to trust in coaching.

His entire line was injured... so I’d say there is decent chance this line will be to some degree better. The coaching staff was a mess in Arizona... gotta believe that will improve.

He was sacked 45 times last year, pretty sure the Patriot scheme will be better for him.

I think the entire 5 starting Arizona front OL went down with injuries. He played behind all backups. We had injuries too but both tackles played most games.

I think he has better skill players around him this year. oline….. we will see

The offense will have more running than it had in the past which will protect him, 3rd and 1 will be a running play instead of a drop back pass.

My whole issue with this trade is...there is no way we will be able to evaluate him in 1 year when it is time to make a decision on the 2020 QB. Our line and team are worse than AZ, so everyone will say...just give him time...he will be great when he has a good line in front of him...all lines we have heard for the last 7 yrs with Tannehill really.

I don't mind the trade for the player, just hated what we gave up, and still don't understand the plan. Rosen will be back in the exact same situation come 2020 that he was in now (playing backup to a top drafted QB). If he is ok being a backup then thats fine, but who knows.
