Take A Breath

This seems like a good place to say.....

It was nice seeing Richmond Webb up there.

He’s greyed up a bit but he still looks like a dude who I’d want watching my back. Very underrated from a league prospective, IMO.

Tunsil has a ways to go before he’s in this dudes league but he’s on his way.

No question Dan Marino indirectly brought out the best Webb had to offer because Dan Marino was worth protecting.

Why do people actually WANT to suck?

Dan Marino isn’t emerging from Pitt again next year.
We are going to suck next year, there's no debating it. Why not suck really bad and have a shot at a few guys guys that may be great? Rosen or Fitz ain't got it.

You know **** is real when Bumpus starts a thread on the main... You guys better watch the **** out!

This is why I don't get worked up ove the draft. There is no guarantees that a any top prospect is going to be the fabled 'elite' player that eveyone is hoping for.

Matter of fact if you took away the draft rounds and just left the order in which teams pick the fans wouldn't have any expectations from those players drafted. Think about it. Imagine if teams just turned in a list of players to the NFL and then the NFL went down that list and awarded players based draft order and availability and then issued that list in alphabetical order ALL AT ONCE to the teams and the public, no one would know who was valued more than anyone else.

But since that isn't how it is done there is no point getting worked up over the draft picks until you see how they will pan out on the field. I usually give rookies three years to prove themselves before I invest in them. Ifnthey can't prove themselves to be the 'elite' player then time to move on.

I think Grier/Flores showed well their first draft together.

But I feel this needs to said, "Had Miami followed my advice since I started following this franchise the Dolphins would be entering this season as the 47-time defending Super Bowl Champions."

Over the years I've come to accept my powerlessness that year after year the FO is simply unwilling to follow my advice and I cheer for this franchise anyways.

After watching the drafts and this team for for almost 50 years with the last 15 years demonstrating different ways to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory... eventually you no longer give a ****.
I watched the draft for about 30 minutes and then changed the channel.
I wish the team and players well in search of winning and some respectability.
It is very important to many fans.
Each year at this time springs new hope.
Major changes were made, hopefully for the better.

Order of preference:

1) SB contender/Legit playoff team (meaning, not backing into the playoffs only to get blown out)

2) Complete tank job
...
...
...
...
...
...
Never) mediocre team with feel-good wins

No interest in telling my grandkids about how we once beat the Pats during one of our 8-8 seasons. (I’m not telling those little shits anything)

If we go 3-13 like half of you want I feel like while getting you a high draft pick you are now working with coaches who probably dont deserve a top shelf qb

I’d think most of you would be ready to take your chances with it by now. Especially after watching Gase and Philbin go 10-6 and 7-9 in both of their first seasons.

You can’t make any type of assessment on your coaches the first year based on the win loss record. Damn sure not with a roster as poor as Miami’s.

Yeah and if we play the redskins giants Gase twice bills twice and the bengals and cant win more than 3 games there might be an issue that goes beyond the roster..

Not sure we've earned the level of ****iness required to count those as wins, particularly against division rivals. Guarantee their fans our looking at the Miami game as an automatic win (they shouldn't, but they are).

Take two steps back from the edge for a moment.

I’m really starting to get concerned about some of you.

Sometimes I really do wonder about the age of a bunch of our posters. Lots of people here this time of year sound like 14 year olds sitting in mommy’s basement crying into their hot pockets about how unfair it is that Miami’s GM didn’t do what they wanted.

I mean, to some extent this happens every year ... But, sheesh. I’m not sure if we have enough cheese to go along with the whine this year.

Take some perspective.

The NFL Draft happened. Our Miami Dolphins selected players. NONE of us had any impact upon those decisions. NONE of us will ever have any impact upon these decisions.

Frankly, I don’t want ANY of us to ever have any impact upon these decisions.

Remember 2007 when we took Teddy Ginn’s entire family instead of the surefire, can’t miss QB Brady Quinn.

Uh, huh.

You don’t know what the **** you’re talking about either.

And, yes, I’m looking directly at YOU.

Take a breath, relax, and watch the games.

Or, go ahead and jump - I tire of your $0.02 crystal ball.

Lol... on the other hand.. it is a forum for talking football......

This is the issue I had with the Dolphins draft.
We are staring at the worst roster in the league. I don’t think we will be favored in any upcoming game - including home games against the mediocre Jets and Bills.

At #13- Wilkins - Simmons- Bradbury on the Board- I get it - safe but effective pick. It’s a B move. Trade down with Redskins for a 4th that’s the A move.

Sitting at #48 - knowing you’re looking at 2020 QB - how do we not grab McCoy? Ok trade down. Nice move.
But then trade #62 for Rosen. Why? Just grab the Michigan DE or the Virgina Safety Thornhill.
Up until now the Boards have been AMAZING FOR Dolphins.
Move on to RD 3. The board has changed IMO. Deiter? Meh. Would’ve traded for Rosen NOW but still preferred Cajuste the Tackle.

Every move was just OK- but just OK equals 7-9. Win the draft to win games.

Bumpus suggests we step away from the ledge and you reply with why you are about to jump.
