He's saying all the right things. It might have been different if he had taken that approach from the get go. We're all hoping he has turned over a new leaf, and so far, he's talking the talk.
But none of us really knows until he's lived it, and shown that he either walks the walk, or he doesn't. The draft pick was traded, it's not coming back, we're not getting that edge rusher like Zach Allen or Chase Winovich, and we didn't get that other starting OL with the Van Ginkel pick we reached for because we missed out on Winovich. Those are sunk costs. Now we can only hope he proves to be an asset. Words are encouraging, but the test comes over the season, where we will see how he performs on the field and off. If he is a problem child in the locker room, it will surface. If he is not a problem child in the locker room I'm sure we'll hear dozens of glowing reports about his character. Assuming that is true, it will all come down to how he shows on the field. The best thing we can say now is … his words and actions (attending Larry Fitzgerald's charity softball game) look like he's doing all the right things. Fingers crossed.
