Intro To Michael Deiter: 3rd Rd

He will probably be our opening day starter at LG. So a player taken that fills a need. Can't be too upset over this.

Dude seems like a great guy, football guy, big body. He seems to have good feet and is athletic. I think he will fit in nicely with Wilkins and kind of bring some personality to the oline, like Wilkins will do for the Dline.

Highlight of the top video when Deiter gets interviewed occurs at 2.45. Michael gets coaxed into attempting to introduce himself with a German accent and is subsequently embarrassed. Es ist wunderbah!
Yes, I like this pick - even without the Deutsch accent - he will solidify the O-line as either a Center or Guard. Good safe pick.

This is a rock solid pick. He's very good in the run game, and he's good in the passing game. He picks up stunts/games/twists well and passes off rushers well, so he complements Tunsil on the left side. I think he's more of a LG than an LT, but he can play LT in a pinch. He can also cover for C, but to me, he's a LG through and through. He's healthy and dependable, which has been our OL's biggest problem for the last decade. He's instantly productive, so we'll get 4 good years of production at a cheap salary. He is not an All-Pro talent, so we should be able to re-sign him once his rookie contract runs out, which means we're possibly looking at 10+ years of solid LG play … something we've sorely lacked.

This is my favorite pick in the draft. More like this please!

So do you guys think we are just going to plug him in and start this year??

Seems like we might as well even though he’s just a rookie. Been a starter for a long time.

The question is the right tackle / right guard position
