Well Is "tank For Tua " Officially Cancelled ?

With all the holes on this team you think 9 games or else is a realistic way to grade out Rosen for 2019?

Seems a bit unfair IMO.

I'm not saying he has to win any amount, but even if he is as good as he can possibly be on this roster...I personally wouldn't pass up a chance to pick a top QB, in a top QB class overall, in a draft where we have assets to move up, with hopes that Rosen will eventually be elite. I am not saying he won't, and I think he can actually be really good, but I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket again...thats how we end up with another Tannehill situation for the next 7 years. And the real point I've been trying to get across, is I don't think our roster currently affords him a real chance to be evaluated. If he does "ok" everyone will just say, he will be elite when we put a team around him/better line in front of him. We heard the same thing about Tannehill year after year. Again, its not a shot at Rose, but I'm not passing up a chance to draft an elite QB next year. The chances don't come around often, and when they do theres a slim chance your team is picking high enough to have a shot.

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, but don't you think picking one game against the best team in the country during a kid's first year as a starter is a little bit wreckless? Especially when you're talking about being outplayed by Football Jesus. You can point to one game where they've all been outplayed - even Football Jesus was outplayed by...Jake Bentley.

Tua outplayed Fromm in the national title game the year before and that was from a deficit when he entered the game. Tua outplayed Kyler Murray. Baker Mayfield was outplayed by J.T. Barrett. Herbert was outplayed by Khalil Tate.

Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan, Tom Brady...they've all been outplayed by an opposing quarterback. That's a tough sell my friend.

I think for many people, their only reference for Tua is that national title game, which is a shame because they do miss out of a truly great prospect. I still haven't seen a player with better ball placement or throws a more catchable ball. I know people want to argue he plays on an "all-star team", but many of those teams in the SEC have talent on the same level, none are coached as well though.

Let's hope so. then we can use our 1st rounder on a pass rusher, which is by far our biggest weakness now.

I’m sorry, but I’m not a fan on Tua. He plays on a college all star team and was badly outplayed by a freshman in the national championship game. I would rather have Herbert or Fromm.
Tua didn't get out played bama hold team and coach did as well.

Hello!!! look at what is going on closely, its not a complete rebuild but close to it. the coaching staff is completely new but as far as the roster the rebuild is gonna be in the trenches and some of the secondary over the next 2 years along with the QB position as we all new that was coming. There is no TANK!! its really simple if you can understand and not read into the social and local media. The NFL is a business and the salary cap comes first and that's what Flores and his staff are correcting along with the correct way of drafting which the prior regimes failed. Bottom line and simply put we are finally on the right path. THANK GOD!!!!

Hopefully Rosen is a franchise QB and we can use all those picks on other needs, but if he isn't, we'll know pretty quickly and the tank is absolutely still on.

If he doesn't win the job out of training camp and preseason, that's the first bad sign.

Let's say Rosen shows enough promise, yet we still get the #1 overall pick. We could get a kings ransom, and if the bottom falls out on him the following year Lawrence could be a true possibility with all the draft equity we accumulate. I know its speculation but I don't put all my eggs in Tua's basket. I don't personally think he's gonna be much better than Rosen, but that's my opinion. However I do believe Lawrence has the potential to be one of the best prospects to ever come out of college.

oops sorry

Really don’t get the love affair with Tua. Anyone that thinks that guy will be anything more than one and done obviously hasn’t looked at his stats. At one point, and maybe currently, his QBR against teams in the top 25 was in the single digits. Let that sink in. I pity the team that sets themselves back for 5 years by giving away a kings ransom for him. Sort of what the skins did with RG3

Not sure where you are getting your stats, but they are wrong.

Also it should be noted, Tua doesnt even get to play a full 4 quarters because he buries teams in a half.

and that is exactly why I dont understand the TUA anointment as the next great QB. He plays on an overloaded team, clean pocket everytime. Most QB's can do what he does with that team around him, I want to see him after he down 20 points and his OL has collapsed and he has to lead the team back on field and fail again.

Vinny Testaverde looked all world with the LOADED hurricane teams, its amazing the difference it can make. This kid might be good, might be average, however savior type I dont see it.

Cant you say that about any QB in a power 5 program?

Check last year's national championship game against Georgia when he bailed out Jalen Hurts.

Believe what you want, Im done trying to convince people to watch college football.

Unless Rosen plays at probowl level, you draft a QB in 2020. Double down and make sure you got a franchise qb. If you don't have one you don't have a chance.
