Josh Rosen Film Review

Also... there is inevitably a point in the development of a rookie where the game slows down...I’m not sure he had a chance to get there with his starting O-line on IR.
Not to mention the fact that the offense he learned in TC was s**tcanned halfway through the season. Thats a lot to put on a rookie, considering the complexities, and nuances of an NFL offense.

I seriously doubt that they did a complete 180 in offense scheme half way thru the year. Thy don’t do that with vets even let alone rookies. If anything they may have tweaked some concepts and emphasis on what they would rely on but likely still very much the same terminology wise etc.

I guess I can't make the leap of that assumption.

I don't think the Rosen deal happens, at all, had we not been able to move back via the NO trade.

Trading back rd1 is a different animal. I didnt address it because it's a variable that would require cooperation from another team, willing to make it worthwhile. Apparently there wasn't a viable offer.

Well if they weren’t gonna make that rosen deal with pick 48 should they have had no trade options even more indicator that it required a 2020 2nd in return to pull the trigger on a 2019 2nd round pick rosen deal that this is what we both think. Hedging qb bets and nothing more

The 49er game was impressive, too. His throws are so accurate. Mechanics are sound. He moves around in the pocket with confidence no matter who’s flying around him. Good thing he’s such a “prick” or else we’d never have a chance to get him lol

OMG, We finally have a 1st round Quarterback draft pick on our team but we want to moan and groan if he is the right person. Time will tell. I did not like it at first but the more I read, the more I have come around to the idea of taking one of the more accurate QB's out of last years draft. Arron Rogers and Goff did not impress anyone there first year. It was his first year behind the wheel of a bad car last year. Look what the Dolphins did to Chad Henne his first year with that horrible line (rambling now). Anyways, he was a proven starter at UCLA and one year as a pro under his belt. Haskins had limited playing time behind a very dominate offensive line. He had all day to throw the ball and I do not think there is film showing him operating under pressure. Rosen was a very cheap and smart option with the question marks in this years class. We have only upside in this scenario. If he is bad, well we have next years QB draft class and what did we lose in kicking the tires on this one? A fifth round pick next year (we gained a second next year and gave up this years). I would rather take that risk instead of rolling the dice on one of these QB's in the first round and find our team in the same situation the Cardinals were in. But if he does work out, look at what we can use those amassed draft picks on as well as free agency!

This was a good move and your points are well taken. I’m sure there were some fans who thought a first round pick on a risky, supposedly weed smoking Dan Marino was a reach. After 50 years of being a fan, yes 50, I can tell you that I have found Miami fans to be some of the most clueless, misinformed fans in the NFL.

There has to be a point where the QB clicks in his head that it’s now time to run things on my terms, his processing speed, know the assignment, drop back and execute, if the read is covered then it’s time to multitask in the pocket to get to your next read, at that point your feet and brain have to work together to manipulate the pocket to see the field clearly.. he is not at this point in his development..

The circumstances there made it very difficult.but he has to mentally say, f### everyone, we’re going out on my terms, and then the game will slow down..

As far as his physique goes, he has not put in any muscle since being drafted, this is a major issue considering his frame, if we don’t see some added size by the time the season starts it’s a red flag.

I think that is his first job as a part of our team, build your foundation of strength then let’s worry about the mental side of the game..

Very impressive performance. We just stole a top 5 prospect for a 5th, 4th, and trade down in the 2nd next year. Wow.

It isn't unusual for a new QB to come in and do pretty well their first outing or two. The Ds haven't had time to figure them out.

This is how I would handle Rosen as his Qb coach..

Delete the brain,, and start from Scatch..

I would tell him nothing in the film room right now, you need to stop thinking your going to out smart everyone, and focus completely on your body for three months, twice day, 6 days aweek..cause if you don’t strenhthen this veryfrail frame and core, it ain’t gonna matter howsmart you are..

Is confusing "weed smoking" with "line snorting" clueless?

It doesn't bother me either way, but it's hardly the same thing.

I agree, but as bad as Jay Fiedler was a qb, the one thing he had was a feel for the pocket. If Tannehill had Fiedler's pocket presence, he would have easily been a top 10 qb in this league

I always said i wished we could have fielders brain and heart with aj feely's arm back in the days. Hopefully Rosen will be that qb that comes thru that his flaws dont just stand out

Think it was just the party lifestyle in general. I was friends some 15 years ago that was in the same frat as Marino, he said they had the Dan Marino bong... truth to the story or not, I dont know. I do know he went to Pitt.

Very true. I look forward to seeing his other games. I’m looking at college games too. Either way, next season will be exiting. :)
