Josh Rosen Best Case Scenario

I'd be so happy to see your guy with pocket presence and a guy who wants touchdowns and isn't afraid to go for him on a regular basis also known as the Killer Instinct.

One thing is certain. Grier and company clearly preferred Josh Rosen to Haskins. He had Haskins falling right into his lap if he wanted him but he didn't, he wanted and went out and got Rosen. Haskins played at an elite level on a very elite team. One has to wonder, if Haskins isn't QBing what basically amounts to an All Star Team how great is he. How is he when the line is getting beat. How is he when he has no running game? How is he when his defense lets him down constantly? Grier like Rosen better, now let's hope he made the right call.

I thought Haskins had some legit red (fatty) flags and his stats were
dramatically inflated via screens and shorts his dudes took for serious
YAC. Also seemed to struggle when moved off his spot. Me personally
glad we passed. No brainer we snag Rosen R2 discounted vs. Haskins.

How much do fans expect Rosen to improve from last year to this year? Would that be enough to bypass Qbs in the next draft?

I think were going to get a dedicated, hard working version of Josh Rosen. I also think we have great coaching here to help the kid become a star QB. We simply have to surround him with a solid, tough football team. It should be fun to see this season play out.

Sam Darnold: 2865 yards with 17 TD and 15 ints....
Media Narrative: He's the future of the franchise and looked very talented as a rookie.

Josh Allen: 2074 with 10 TD and 12 ints
Media Narrative: He's the future of the franchise and looked very talented as a rookie.

Josh Rosen: 2278 with 11 TD and 14 ints
Media Narrative: He looked horrible and has a bad attitude. His teammates and coaches don't like him.

LOL... gotta love stats... they are the saving grace for most posters...

I'm not a live by the stats guy... Can he play?...can he get the team in scoring range?... can he make the plays necessary when things breakdown?... can he TAKE control and LEAD the men around him?
Once he is established, comparing his stats to the top dogs can be fun... enlightening.... but when push comes to shove CAN HE WIN? That's what I want....a guy that has the skill and moxie to win....

otherwise those stats mean nothing to me... too many other guys to thank for his stats for me to get wrapped up in them... This is the ultimate TEAM game and I love it... is Rosen the chosen one?
We hope so....

Stats are for pinheads.

They lack context.

How bad was his supporting cast? How many drops by his receivers? Did their defense blow chunks?

The pocket protector crew always ignores all of this.

As always, Dan didnt play defense... and neither did the Dolphins.

The new running/ passing QBs are exciting to watch. Guys like Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield and now Kyler Murray bring an excitement to the game that is fantastic. But, like we saw with RG 3, when you expose your QB to those kind of hits he ultimately gets injured.

There is no difference between the QB's injury wise. It's a matter of preference.

"...there was no statistically significant difference in injury rates between mobile and conventional quarterbacks. Quarterbacks of both types tend to lose 11 to 14 percent of their starts to injury. Even without counting the thus-far injury-free Kaepernick, three of the four tests produced a lower injury rate for mobile quarterbacks. The gap, though, is small enough that a statistician would call it zero."

Running QBs avoid death... for awhile, but when they age... it gets ugly really fast.

A wily old pocket guy can play almost forever.
