Trent Dilfer On Josh Rosen!

He did not "like him". He loved him. Called Ryan a "rock star"...

FWIW Trent Dilfer's analysis doesn't swing my opinion one way or another. I still really like the trade and think Rosen has good tools.

Trent Dilfer loved Ryan Tannehill. Probably still does.

*watches heads explode*

I don’t get the constant attempts by some to suggest every QB not named Tua is Ryan Tannehill
2.0?

I get some of you had your hearts set on 0-16 and getting the #1 overall.....with perceptions that Tua is a can’t miss prospect, even though he had the collegiate advantage of leading a team superior to almost every team he faced by a wide margin....until of course they got crushed by Clemson and Tua actually looked inferior to a freshman named Lawrence.

Most of us just want a franchise QB... wherever we can get one.

Clearly Josh Rosen was a much more polished and experienced QB entering the NFL than Ryan Tannehill... and the mistakes made in drafting Tannehill in the 1st round are clear now.

Rosen is going to get a shot to be the franchise QB before Miami drafts another top prospect...so why not support him and enjoy the ride?

When you look at Ryan's physical tools, his intellect and his presnap, he had the making of being a Rock Star player, the problem was, he could never function off script.
Im not sure if I believe in Ryan's presnap, but I obviously agree with off time. Speaking of off time, its exactly why I would of rather not have traded for Rosen too. The idea that Rosen just hasnt tapped into that yet and he has some Rodgers in him is ridiculous IMO.

What's odd is the posters in here that have never watched Tua play yet bash him constantly - confess their undying admiration and loyalty to Trent Dilfer's wisdom. Posters who said Tannehill was going to be a superstar after he was drafted, bumping my thread after game to tell me what a stud Tannehill was going to be - now proclaiming drafting Tannehill in the 1st round was a mistake.

You poor SOB's have to be dizzy at this point. Dilfer has always liked Tua better than Rosen.

You mean the guy who said the Patriots, "aren't good anymore" like 3 Super Bowls wins ago? Yup, he's brilliant!

the difference between N.E and afc east is qb play and coaching. how long are they going let old man Brady whip their ass in afc east and nfl. we all need support Rosen for now.

It's called grasping for any sign of hope.

It depends how long the ride is! And if the coaster is old and bumpy or new and smooth.

Tua's very first meaningful game was being thrown into the National Championship down 13 to an elite defense in Georgia, and leading them back to victory. Bashing Tua isn't how you should go about trying to defend Rosen. He's a stud prospect. He'd have been #1 overall this year and he'll be #1 when he comes out as will Trevor Lawrence.

There are some similarities from Rosen to Tannehill, whatever. It's not the end of the world. You're right though, Rosen is a much better prospect.

I was eyeing the 2020 QB class and got dealt Rosen for a 2nd round pick. Ok, I can live with it. I don't love the trade but I'm ok with taking a shot at a top prospect albeit a year old and beat up from a year of **** play with AZ. Let's play ball and hope that we found the Rosen one.

TBH I really couldn't care less what anyone in the media says. Rosen is our QB at this time so I'm rooting for him but it doesn't matter what anyone in the media says and it doesn't matter what any of the "gurus" on this board say either. The only thing that matters will be what he does out on the field. Like I've said before, I'm fine with the trade but no married to Rosen. I just hope we can see one way or the other what we really have with Rosen without having to wait 7 years.
