should we send Fitzpatrick to them for a nice draft pick? dumb question, its seems like a slam dunk to me

That is why I'm thinking hold on to him for as long a possible.

Why would anyone trade a nice draft pick for Ryan Fitzpatrick?

Serious question.

If you want a veteran quarterback as an emergency stopgap, Josh McCown is quite literally available off the street and is a better football player to step in and fill that role.

Why is he on the street?

He's standing out there holding up a sign that says "will throw a football for enough money to buy another boat." If a contender loses a quarterback in camp, he's probably getting another boat.
Fitz had one bad game last year, McCown has had one bad career

The last team that signed McCown thought Cokey McCoke Eyes would make a great HC

They both have unimpressive career numbers, but McCown has played on some of the legitimate worst garbage teams in NFL history, whereas Fitzpatrick has had the keys to some decent offenses from time to time.

Just saying, I don't think anyone's going to trade a decent pick for Fitzpatrick when other veteran journeymen are available for nothing.
