How Would Josh Rosen Need To Perform In 2019 For You To Forgo Drafting A 1st Round Qb In 2020?

I can tolerate any amount of wins as long as Rosen is responsible for helping put up more that 20 points per game.

Anything around 24-25 ppg with a 7.5 YPA would be a fantastic start.

After so many years of Tannehill all I want to see is a QB that can make something out of nothing a few times a game. Give me a few of those plays where the pocket is collapsing and instead of standing there like a statue and getting clobbered he maneuvers out and delivers the ball downfield.

With this team if you're judging him based on wins or points you're bound to end up very disappointed.

is it possible that the fins are waiting for Trevor Lawrence ? he is being touted as a once a generation type QB... if i would have the 1st overall next year i think i would trade it for for lots of picks and the following year draft Trevor Lawrence. i would ride the Rosen bus for the next two years and see then...

No, thats not possible. No team looks at future drafts like that.

It really shouldn't be all that hard to analyze his year with both the eye and stats.

He's not a rookie any more. I get his first year was in bad conditions but he went through the reps, game prep, feeling of an NFL game, etc..

I want to see him succeed on 3rd down, in the red zone, and lead our offense to a 25~PPG.

I would love to have him too but it's not realistic. Getting Trevor is akin to hitting the NFL lottery, a lot of things would have to go in our favor for that to even be possible. Our luck hasn't been good over the past 20 years. Look how close we were to Andrew Luck and couldn't land him. It's too far ahead to predict what will happen, is it possible? sure. Probable? Not really. A lot can change in 2 years and probably will.

Toss in the 4th quarter comeback or at least maintaining the lead through the fourth would be nice.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Give Rosen a 2 year audition and mortgage the farm for Lawrence if Rosen isn't the guy.

I want to see game winning, fourth quarter drives, under pressure, with the bullets flying.

I want to see sustained offense. This 3 and out crap, all the time, must stop.

I want to see Miami step on ppls throats, with back breaking scores, and defensive stops, when we have them down.

I also don't buy into this team being as devoid of talent, as some would have you believe. We have a decent young nucleus on defense, and our recievers/RBs are, as a group, as fast as any in the league.

Coaching matters, and this group Grier has assembled is, IMO, light years better than the clowns in the former regime.

I like the idea Buddy but what happens if you plan for that and the time comes and you don't get him? I think you're going to see them build around Rosen. Trevor has a different style and therefore would require a different type of personnel around him. So if you were lucky enough to land him, you'd probably have to retool a majority of the offense and after 2 years of dismal play leading up to draft him, I doubt the fans would accept another 2+ more to surround him with the type of player he needs to be successful. I think they just roll and let the chips fall where they may. If they can get him, you do it, but you can't force it. I would be stoked if we got him but I have to temper my enthusiasm because it likely won't happen.

I'd think simply, as good or possibly accepting slightly less than I'd fantasize from the guys many think of to be the greatest rookie QB's in decades in these future Drafts.

While understanding he doesn't have to be in competition as "The Best" like some are doing hypothetically in their predictions of the few future guys in their 2020 & now starting to see even 2021 Draft evaluations...

We will have to see Rosen in action for next season and form an opinion from reality that involves to many possibilities to list, while understanding and taking into consideration potential areas of offense weakness's he'd have to deal with, that would most likely effect even the best of QB's.

But evaluate by saying with a good and successfully sufficient Surrounding cast, Can JR take them to the promised land ?

Another positive he's going into year two and has one year of experience under his belt which should provide even more value in making a good evaluation...JMO
