***question For The Draft Experts***

He reminded me of Josh Gordon, too, and if the other variables work out, he can be really good. I do think that's a relatively big IF, though. Keeping in mind that I was only highlighting positives, this is what I had to say about him toward the end of November.
Something has to be off.. his off field issues aside— if he has those type skills- why not drafted? The league always takes chances on talent? No?

I'll be honest. What Preston Williams did on the football field blew me away.

I've never seen Miami sign a UDFA that talented. Being a WR1 is in his wheelhouse.

He's so sudden, both at the line and on the hoof. So much tactical speed. He catches the football well. He Moss's people. He's great in transition to RAC. He challenges defenses vertically. He even blocks really well and seems to care about it. He wants to go out there and dominate every single snap in every way, and he succeeds.

He looks somewhere between DeAndre Hopkins, Josh Gordon, and A.J. Green on the football field. Big names, I know. But he gets open so easily at 6042 & 211 lbs, and he takes things that the defense didn't want to give so damn easily.

This is a very talented player! I'm probably more excited to see what he can do than anyone else we've acquired. Considering who we have at wr he has more than a fair chance on making the roster and seeing action this season. D.Parker should miss the first 5 games of the season.

He’s not THAT talented. Just talented.

Secondly, a lot of people believe his issues go deeper than just what’s known in general. Enough to spook plenty of the folks that matter.

If Josh Rosen balls out Miami needs to draft Jerry Jeudy. Kid is OBJ Jr.

Jeudy will likely be WR1, but I think the class is too talented for him to create a large gap between himself and WR2. Mentioned it in another thread, but Tylan Wallace is the receiver that reminds me of OBJ. Unless like 10 WR's go in the 1st (only a slight exaggeration), I'd be targeting WR with 2020's early 2nd (assuming Miami is picking early of course).

Yeah theres a lot of really good wideouts coming out. Tee Higgins is another.

pleeeease don't draft receivers or runningbacks in the first round. Having Mike Wallace, plus this year's trio of Stills/Wilson/Amendola worked wonders for us, right?

I like that we have many new picks in next years draft, but like someone else said, most of them are late rounds. Maybe we can pickup an extra by trading Parker and Alonso.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rosen ball out and finally show his enormous potential. That give Miami, all kinds of trade options at #1 if they should finish with the worst record in the league. There are a lot of WR's who are extremely talented in 2020. Pairing one of them with a potentially elite QB in Rosen would or could take Miami's offense to another level. The RB class is strong too, with AJ Dillon a guy who give Miami a pile driver at the position. Very talented young man.

Wallace was a 3rd Round pick, and Miami's receivers in 2019 were mediocre, so I'm not sure I understand your point. Because WR has a high fail rate, I'm generally against drafting them Top 20, but there are exceptions, and it is a valuable position and should not be grouped with RB, which is not. Once you get outside the Top 20, the potential payoff more than compensates for the higher fail rate. We saw NE draft Harry at 32, and many draft folks didn't like Harry. He wasn't seen as some slam-dunk WR. I think he's the closest thing in 2019 (like him a lot), but he'd probably be WR5 or so in 2020.

When you say he reminds you of Beckham do you mean minus the antics?

Curious where Warren Jackson of CSU is going to shake out. He'll be a junior next year. You don't see 6'6" players like him move like that very often. And he's got to be close to that height because Preston Williams is a full 6042 and Jackson looks noticeably taller.
