Battles On The Offensive Line Figure To Highlight Training Camp

I believe they have a plan in mind that will address our issues of less then average players in the OL. I don't know what their plan is but I'm sure its better then any of the suggestions I've read so far.
The plan most probably is to have the FB and to a lesser extent a blocking TE in pass protection.

Big bodied line of maulers :- Tunsil/Calhoun/Dieter/Reed/ one of Davis/Prince/Jones-Smith.

Highly unlikely but man scheme with FB lead gives us 3.5 yards and a cloud of dust.

Looks like a bottom 10 line on paper. Any injuries and it will be a freak show. They might be made to look better with the quick passing game and if the line can run block they will try to get to 48-50% run calls.

We lose a lineman or two every year and we have less depth now more than ever (which is saying a lot).

No idea why they traded for Rosen if this was all they were going to do to help him. Barring a small miracle this isn't going to be pretty.

I think you trade for Rosen for peanuts all day every day, whether or not you still need to build your line.

He just may not play as much, or as quickly.

Because you always try to upgrade QB at every possibility. Stop acting like the offseason is over.

Truthfully it looks like they weren’t expecting to get him - because the line looks like poo even with Dieter

I think the wildcard in how the offensive line plays is the coaching staff. The scheme can help as well as making the running game a focus.

Not expecting a miracle, but in the past player development on the offensive line was also severely lacking. Maybe that changes now.

Its going to be dink and dunk to Drake all year.
Well Rosen throws a good deep ball, so if our OL holds up, expect to see more shots down the field, meaning Stills and Grant on posts and flys, creating space for Wilson in the open field for mid-range stuff behind the LB's. I'd also expect Gesicki to finally get to run those seam routes, because Rosen can throw those as well.

Again … this is all _IF_ the OL can give those guys time to run those routes and Rosen gets enough time to throw from a reasonable platform.

Staying out of 3rd and long (8+ yds) is crucial, if we are to sustain drives.

In those situations, pass rushers will totally disregard the run, pin their ears back, and our QB will be toast, regardless if its Rosen, or Fitzpatrick.

I don't envision many 5-6 second clean pockets on 3rd downs.

Tunsil, Deiter, Kilgore, Reed, and Davis doesn't sound like bottom 10 of league at all. I would say between 14-18.

Does anyone know who Shaq Mason and Joe Thuney are? I sure didn't lol. But the Pats OL was good.

I'm expecting every defense we face to stack the LOS to stop us from running and daring us to go on top till we prove we can do it. Scheme matters but more than that, the play calling will go a long way to help the O-line, specially early on. 3 of our first 4 games are in the Miami heat so running a fast tempo would be nice to get the other team's defense tired but that only works if we're moving the ball......starting getting 3 and outs and our defense will be the one melting down.

I doubt we throw long on 3rd downs either. Seems more like a 1st or 2nd down call to me.

The key to not getting behind on down and distance is being able to run against pass defense packages, which is why we drafted Deiter and Prince and brought in Green and Dunn. This offense can not succeed if it is one-dimensional. Our passing game isn't good enough to make that work.

I also assume teams will play to stop the run, but not until they are forced to.

A good scheme/QB can beat this, if recievers can get off the los clean. Better Ds wont allow this though, and it doesn't help that 3 of our 4 main WRs are undersized.

TEs might have to step up in these situations.
