You have to give him the benefit of the doubt because he was the least powerful man in the room back then.....

Example... according to Tannenbaum... he and Grier really liked Rosen in the 2018 draft ...but Gase was NOT pounding on the table to go up and get him and replace Tannehill.... so Grier was pretty restricted... now he has full power!
And full accountability, which is nice. It all falls on his desk now.

Sure the Dolphins still have a lot to prove and coach Flores still has to coach his first game but this was the first offseason where I felt we acted with a purpose, for a system, for an idea. In the past 20 years (even longer) we stitched together our teams with no visible system in sight. The disconnect and gap between FO and coaching was huge.
For the first time I can see that there is an FO and coaching staff in sync with each other.

How that will translate to onfield production is yet to be seen but the question was not about predicting a season record, playoff berth or super bowl appearance. It was "How confident are you?"

Based on this offseason I am as confident as I ever have been without setting unreasonable goals for the first season. There will be bumps and hurdles and I am confident we will overcome them. I believe we are at the threshold of something great.

I'm 36 years old this is the first time I've actually felt like we had a front office that knew what they were doing. It has been about three years now when it comes to the draft . But this is the first year when it can said about the rest of the personnel

We're definitely off to a good start and heading in the right direction. Which is good for a change...

Is that true? I remember reading somewhere that Grier wasn’t high on Rosen but O’Shea was. Could be wrong though.

However, it is in our best interest long term to have the first overall pick in the 2020 draft.
It’s not. It would mean our coaching staff sucks donkey balls.

We will see...

But alot of people are rewriting history here. When Gase came in, these same Hope's and dreams were expressed ad nauseam.

As I have said for a better part of a decade, fix the trenches and build your foundation/identity. The hope is there for the identity part, let's see if we can get some consistent growth on this team we have lacked for that decade.

The Miami Dolphins are rebuilding their franchise and looking toward the future.

And, with the Draft complete, 69 percent of the fan base is now confident in the team’s direction. That marks the highest percentage of fans confident in the team since Week 4 of the 2018 season (86 percent).

Encouraged? Yes. Overall, I'm satisfied with the FO moves. I'm impressed, initially, with Flores' staff. Confident? Unsure. I've lived through FistPump, Philbin, and Gase. I'll need to see some evidence first.

Im confident in this front office personally. What they have done this off season has been magical. What I am less confident about, is the coaching staff. The jurys out on Coach Flores and his staff. We will see.

Hell yeah! I am confident in the direction we are taking. Why wouldn't I be? 2nd guessing every move is huge waste of time. Our strategy has changed. We are trying to rebuild the right way. I like our coaches. I am going to try and enjoy the ride.

Yep, but we need to add a f****** pass rusher NOW!!!

The problem with the question is that old guys like me recall when we were great.

But 20 years is a long time.

A long time to become calloused. New coaches, new schemes, new players. This is not the team it was in 2002 and beyond. Totally different guys, obviously. But the results haven’t changed.

I’m kind of numb. They’re my guys and always will be. But when you get your hopes up and then crushed for a couple decades, it takes a toll.

It would not surprise me if we go 3-13.

Or 10-6.

I am impressed with how FA, the cap, and other moves have been handled.

But guys, we’ve seen this movie a million times over the last 20 years.

Maybe they’ll get it right. Maybe we’ve got the staff we need.

But they’ll have to show me something for real before I ever get my hopes up again.

As in good, consistent plays. Effort. Looking as though they have a heartbeat. You know simple fundamentals, like knowing which sideline to run to after a play. That little ****up by Kiko embodied the Miami Dolphins.

And then he stood there. Had to have it pointed out to him that he was on the wrong sideline.

How do you **** that up?

Well we sure did. And once again became a laughingstock. Not really a big deal, but the head up the ass look it gave us is telling.

I have no faith. Not now. But it is theirs to win back.
