Dolphins Sign Jordan Mills.

It may be top 20 but he's a veteran. There are young guys on rookie deals and back of the roster guys just trying to survive. It's pretty low for signing a veteran to come start for you.

Right. 3 million dollars is trash.

I mean I burn through that in a week.

Thanks for helping me put that into perspective.
3 million is not that little. It's about a top 20 salary on a team. But is it guaranteed? I bet it isn't. And we need players, so

We currently have 37M in cap room for this year. We have 3 spots on out roster left. It doesn't matter if we gave this guy 10M. We are not spending 25M more in cap from this point to the end of season. The money is really irrelevant.

Cool. At worst he's another body.
I mean for May and the price tag, you can't be expecting a great player. Just hope he plays average.

Yea it would matter if they gave him 10 million, cause you just burned 7 million dollars you couldn't roll over to 2020.

I don't mind a signing like this. Bring in some guys with experience to compete and hopefully everyone gets better.

I also don't think they are done "kicking the tires" on players. There are still cuts coming with the second wave of free agency and then throughout training camp. I think the Dolphins are in pretty good shape cap wise to pick up a couple of guys that can contribute.

Not like there are just a bunch of cheap stud OL sitting around out there. Might as well bring an experienced body in.

Yup. Experience, realibility, availability, leadership are valuable to a new staff.

Talent would help too. We aren't worse with him on the roster then without.

Once the draft concluded, it became obvious where our holes were. We are going to have to deal with it for at least another season.

At worst, this guy will offer depth. I have no problem with the signing. He has been healthy and is still fairly young. That's a big plus. anyone know if the three million is guaranteed?

A big tackle with similar playing style as Prince, could be a good mentor. I also wouldn't rule out ZPrince getting some looks at guard in year one and then moving out to tackle.

Are you concerned that he's 6'7 though? That seems tall for an interior lineman unless he is highly flexible and can bend well.

Looks like Davis won't be looked at for tackle. And they aren't too high on him for right guard either.

This makes our draft strategy even more baffling to me.

Going into the draft loaded with RT options we had no RT and 7 DT’s on the roster so what do, take a DT at 13 and take a project at RT in the 6th and then sign this scrub to compete!

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Just the scheme will make average lineman look better. Decent signing.

I hate to break it to you but Isaiah Prince will never be as good as Mills. If you've seen Ohio State at all over the years, you would know he ****ing sucks.

Did you expect to fill all 8 holes with 3 draft picks? lol
