You Guys Know

Without getting too far into it....we'll never know if Tannehill could have been the answer with a quality line...because he never had one. All that was managed to be proven in his time here was that he wasn't good enough to overcome the circumstances around him.

My question is this: Do you really think people being optimistic is going to have the slightest bit of bearing on whether or not Rosen performs well?

And if not...why worry about it?
I really dont think we should even judge tannehill on the OLINE, which has a few functions, protecting the qb is 1 of them. Just off top, a few things come to mind with tannehill that have nothing to do with the oline. His awareness, intincts, his conservativeness, his sometimes lack of urgency, and lack of using his athleticism enough.. These things are important. Not every team has a quality offensive line and still make it work. The offense adapts, the qb is aware, thinks faster, moves quicker, gets the ball out on time. We had some decent lineman in the past for ryan in pouncey, brandon albert, juwann james, incognito, bryant mckinney, bushrod(?). He was tough, i did like that about him. But he reached his ceiling the day he was drafted, talent wise.

Agree to disagree.

All the optimism on Rosen is what worries me the most. I would rather think he is going to suck and be pleasantly surprised when I am wrong or I will be right.

The guy threw 11 TD's and 14 int's in 14 games last year. That is averaging less than a TD per game and 1 int per game. Those are very bad analytical indicators.

I have no hope for this guy and think Fitzpatrick would play better for us, but I do hope that I am completely wrong.

Yeah, I like to think all my future quarterbacks that come to the NFL team I follow suck. Especially rookie QB's that haven't had a chance to prove themselves yet.

I love hoping for one thing but rooting for the other.:nah:

Excellent.

So if we draft Tua next year and there's a ton of optimism are you going to mega worry then?

You have no hope for Rosen but you have hope for a QB that hasn't started a full season since 2015 and played 3 full seasons in his 13 year career?

A QB that just got into a fight with Betty Crocker and won.

Excellent.

Of course I did. The main excuse everyone gives for his play was his bad oline... But we have the worst oline in the league next to them. That doesnt necessarily make me think we have the catalyst to change him from horrible to decent. We are one Laremy Tunsil injury from being the worst oline in the league. Maybe if we had actually done something to change that fact then maybe I would feel better about his chances. Like I said I hope I am wrong

Wait you never seemed to worry about the bad Oline when Tannehill was around. Very odd......

Rosen played with Larry Fitzgerald one of the greatest wr's to ever play the game. Watch his higlights and tell me how many great catches Larry made for him. A ton. He wont have that security blanket here. Wait til Rosen meets Jakeem "Hands of Stone" Grant.

So your comparing a starting All-pro receiver for Arizona to a utility / slot receiver/ punt returner for Miami????

You hated Tannehill, you're already hating on Rosen before he even took a snap for the Phins and your excited for the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Excellent.

Holy crap... Agenda much?

I have high hopes for Josh Rosen and truly hope he wins us 10 superbowls but my expectations are much much lower than that. Not because I want him to fail, cause I dont, but because I think he will fail due to everything I have mentioned.

Second... I have been talking about inproving the oline for longer than Tannehill has even been around. And he would suck with the best oline in football.

I never hated Tannehill, just thought he didnt deserve to be our starting QB, and that we should have been looking for another QB for the last 4 to 5 years or so.

And I do think that at this point in their careers Fitzpatrick can win us more games than Rosen.

And most importantly... I do think that Tua is ridculously overrated and hope that Josh Rosen or Fitz play well enough so we dont draft the most overrated QB to come out since Ryan Leaf.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the positive outlook OP. The 4th quarter part intrigues me. Good QB's need to be able to take control late in close games even if they have played poorly up until then.

It concerns me because "everyone on this site always wrong about everything" :lmfao:

You want to be right, the NFL is hard so go negative. I'll give you two right now:

1. The Dolphins will not win a Super bowl in the next 5 years.
2. Josh Rosen will not win one here.

There 2 these statements I refuse to back up with reasons both have a GREAT shot at being right. It's really not that hard or impressive.

Impressive? Impressive would be you explaining why. Which I did but I am not trying to impress the lot of you, merely trying to enlighten. While some of you may be content being deluaional and ignorant to the realities of this team, I would rather try to decipher what needs to be done to get us to the superbowl. I would rather try to pinpoint what has kept this team on the bottom on standings for so long. I would rather try to make it obvious what needs to change in order to tilt in the positive direction.

Which at this point seems to be completely changing the oline and adding depth there to help any QB we may have.

It is easy to say the points you made... It is not as easy to say why those 2 points are statistical probabilities as you stated.

Impressed yet? I imagine you never will be either way.

Enlighten us???

OK Grasshopper.

Not impressed what so ever.

Spin it any way you want, you didn't like Tannehill yet confirm the oline has been pretty much garbage since he's been here. You obviuosly dont like Rosen by your past statements but want to give him a chance by starting Fitzpatrick. And you dont like Tua.

No to Tannehill, No to Rosen, No to Tua, yes to Fitzpatrick.

Peyton Manning rookie year - 26 TD , 28 INT - 16games

Steve Young first 2 years - 11 TD , 21 INT - 19games

Troy Aikman rookie year - 9 TD , 18 INT - 11games

John Elway rookie year - 7 TD, 14 INT - 11games

Terry Bradshaw rookie year - 6 TD, 24 INT - 13games

Terry Bradshaw year 2 - 13 TD, 22 INT - 14games

Awaiting your response.

You're right. Your agenda is shining brightly throughout this thread.

What's the issues you see in his game?
My response to him was more of the situation that he was in, in Arizona. No offense of line, no running game, poor coaching, bad play calls.
I really didn’t start paying attention to him until after we picked him up on draft night. What I see is a confident young man, strong arm, good anticipation, reads defenses fairly well, moves around in the pocket well.

let's compare Grant at 5'6" and a 6th round pick to Larry Fitzgerald standing tall at 6'3" and was a #3 pick. :bobdole:

Two different receivers, with different pasts, different build, different functions on the field.
