Chandler Cox

This was such an intelligent draft pick. In the late 7th round we got a guy who will get 30-40% of offensive snaps guaranteed. Who else did that?

I always liked having a power fullback. Never understood why we let go of Polite, he was ok. It just made the difference with a yard or less. The worse was when they pitched it back to the RB and lost yards. If you can't make less then a yard then you don't deserve a win.

That type of play call has always baffled me.

On 3rd and short (1-2 yds), any play that is not immediately attacking the LOS is a mistake. Yes, once in a while, you can catch a defense "sleeping", but for the most part, in short yardage situations, any play that is slow developing has a lower chance of success.

Well coached offenses don't generally call plays parallel to the line in short yardage situations.

CC Rider is going to become a huge fan favorite. I love the smash mouth mentality beginning to form in Miami, once again.

I don’t see bull dozer. I see versatile piece that will limit the tells. Help offset all those guaranteed tells with gesicki on the field for instance

That does seem to be the point of most everything the new coaches have done so far. Give the coaches the personnel to allow them to employ a power running attack if that is what the situation calls for. If you're going to take a singular approach on either side of the ball you better be able to find some exceptional players

To me he doesnt look like a power, smash mouth Full back but more as someone who can do many things and apparently do them well. I do believe he will make our team and contribute this year. Not bad at all for a 7th round pick.

oh yeah he's definately going to wind up being a folk hero around here if this pans out. all our FB's seem to be. The J-Train played one season and you still hear his name mentioned around here, Polite played 3 seasons and its insane how good he was for us, give me a fullback that can be targeted at least once a game in the pass to keep the defense honest, of course this is what we dont want Reagan Maui'a who was a youtube hero cause he ran through a quarter inch cardboard wall, but he had us all on the hype train. Loved Rob Konrad even though he was overdrafted, i think i remember backfields with Deon Dyer and FB and Konrad at HB, Stanley Pritchett was a nice target out of the backfield (of course this was Marino's time frame so everyone was a target if you were on the field), Keith Byars was one of the best to do it ever, and Tony Paige was a helluva of a blocker IIRC. we've had some really good talent line up in the backfield, hopefully Cox name goes up on the list with the Polites. If we ever had another Keith Byars that would be heaven, but as long as he doesnt turn out to be the hype train as Reagan.

There was nothing finesse about Sparano ball
Didn't you watch the games? Don't you recall these finesse moves? The fluidity of the fist rising into the air, they were some beauts!

You don't get more finesse than that!

I'm sure it will, our only problem is we rarely get a "3rd and short" it's normally 3rd and 8+. Hope things are about to change for the better!
One huge problem in Gase's O, was the high number of 3 and outs, particularly early in games. That is a direct result of having too many 3rd and long situations.

It puts the D in a bad spot, and wears them down throughout the course of a game.

Hopefully the new staff can do better in that regard. I believe they will.

Poor Jets, they have no idea what they're in store for... Those fans will have a meltdown.
