I don’t put a lot into highlight videos, but that one sure is fun to watch. The best part of that video, IMO, is the “nose for the end zone”. That quality that some players have that once they hit the red zone, they will not be denied the touchdown. Ricky Williams had that (on top of being an absolute bruising back) and it made every red zone visit exciting. The highlight video of this kid seems to show a similar trait. I hope he does well.

Basically for as productive as he was in college there was nothing woe about him physically. He is a smart runner though so I can easily see him being very productive
Some players just put their head down and go to work.......he gets the job done or at least he did in college for all 4 years.

He looked pretty darn good to me.

Like you, I'm skeptical of "highlight" reels, as a rule, but this guys stats confirm what the video shows.

He has great vision. He only hesitates when he is waiting on blocking, then explodes through the hole.

I have read some commentary on his percieved lack of speed, but I didn't see too many defenders able to run him down from behind.

I don't think he can be a 20+ carry guy, between the tackles, but who is these days.

I assume the team will carry 4 backs, including Cox, so there is a good chance he makes the roster.

I don't know what kind of pass pro he was asked to do in college, or whether he is adept at STs though.

He was a every down back, so he has done pass pro many times. As far as ST I think I remember him doing a few kick off returns. But I think that was only in big games. No put returns that I remember, we had Petis his 1st 3 year there. And no one would take Petis off punt returns for anyone on the Huskies roster.

Kept reading he has a lot of wear on him with so many carries over his college career. Couple that with slow 40 times (although his game speed looks fine), a bit of dancing and he drops.

To me, he looks slippery as an eel going through the hole - a nice trait to have.

I think he will be a factor this year.

the kids shows some nice moves. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team.

It was a 10:40 video all but 1 or 2 plays where highlights of his 62 TD’s. I get what you say about highlight vids. But this kid and the defense are the only reason why the Huskies won the pac-12. Since they lost Ross in the 1st round 2 years ago. And Pettis I think in round 3 last year. Browning has shown that he is a below average game manager.

So I do agree that most of the time the vids should be taken with a grain of salt. Because most of them can be 10 to 15 minutes long if that long. With 10 to 15 TD’s and a bunch of 1st down runs or catches. I watched all but 5 or 6 games he played for UW, and there are only 3 to 4 bad games that I remember. The playoff game vs Alabama was probably his worst, with the Arizona st game this year being pretty bad.

He might be small but he's not easy to tackle. He runs faster than it seems and is very quick.

It crazy when you think about the Patriots and using players like J.White, D.Lewis and Danny Woodhead. Those guys were easily some of the smaller backs in the league and then they would have the other spectrum of guys like L.Blount on the roster.
