We just signed Xavien to a MONSTER deal.....highest paid corner in th league
Honestly, a year ago, I was totally against a contract like this one.

Even at the end of last year I thought it would be better to trade X, even though I thought he was a top 3-5 player at his position.

Now, however, I'm on board because Grier has layed the proper ground work, by clearing out the bad contracts, making it possible.

It seems this FO is capable of looking past one season.

Who woulda thought?

This is the most confident I have been in a long time. Having 12 draft picks next year is the element that inspires the most confidence. We have been trying to build through free agency, and trading for vets for so longs, and the blue print has alway been the draft.

Everything else is still an unknown. I believe in the coaching staff, but have no idea how they will do. We will learn a lot in year 1. The defense is missing a few pieces, and Flores doesn’t have a full slate of “his guys” but if he can get this unit to over perform based on scheme it will be a good tenure. The same on offense. If the Patriot system is coming in then it can overcome lack of stars on the o-line. If Caldwell and O’Shea get Rosen on the right path we will know for sure this team is going places.

Well, the coaching staff seems a thousand times better.

My only real concern is O-Line.

It won't really matter who is calling the plays or behind center if there are 3 turnstiles out there.

OC, the 2 QB coaches and especially DC are MAJOR improvements.

I will not be confident in their direction until I see how their QB position is going to take shape.
qb is key.for dolphins or any team in nfl. I like what they did this yr. Grier want to let thill17 go a long time a go. the one thing might save flores. Brady don't have that much left in tank. I can see that end is near. he still is good qb. he can still beat u with experience. our team will not be that bad as people think. we might be looking at same record as last yr.

If dolphins had drafted Rosen last yr. we would still win 7 to 8 games. if he was starter.
Rosen will win more games in Miami than he would win in Ari. our team is still better than Arizona right now.

Anyone with a casual interest in football can see Brady isn't the same player he was 3 years ago.

Has little to do with direction except by the time Flores gets 'his' team assembled, Brady should be gone or a shell. Nonetheless, to date, the moves show a level of sanity fans haven's sen in this century.

well...lets see, things that have taken place since Grier was made the top man for the Phins:

1: Brought in a new head coach who according to people in the know was an up and coming D coordinator. We all saw what he did in the super bowl, and have hear how players are responding to him.

2. He got rid of some over priced players, and actually managed to get some draft picks for some of those players. I wished we would have kept Wake, but i understood why he was gone.

3. He, and our new coach, have put together a very good (on paper) coaching staff and front office. There are quite a few experienced people here that i believe will be beneficial going forwards.

4. They have a plan, some may like it and some may not, but at least is a blueprint of what they want to do. Staying away from high price free agents is/was part of their plan. Bringing in competition to almost all positions seems like another phase of their plan.

5. They brought in Rosen for what many expert believe was a good move. Again, some may like it some may not like it, but at least it shows that they are willing to bring in a player they like and are not affraid to take a chance on such a player.

There are a few things i wished they would have done differently (like bringing in more DE/Edge help) but overall i have to say this is the best i felt about the Phins direction in a long, long time.

I have the same level of confidence that I have had ever since Ross bought the team. I will believe that they are capable of turning things around after they have actually turned things around. Ross still has no credibility in my humble opinion.

Agreed. The approach to the o line has been literally the only thing I could even begin to question about the off-season. But I truly believe coaching impacts that position group more than any other by far. So I'm optimistic the new regime can get this group at least on par with last year. Then next year we can truly rebuild it.

I like what Grier has done mostly with the draft. I can't really say that I'm confident though, no … that may be an issue with phraseology mainly though. The track record of the former Patriots staff members aren't good. We're gambling on a QB who may or may not have attitude issues according to other GM's around the league. And, of course, we're rebuilding … again.

I'm more crossing my fingers and looking at the potential positives of a very versatile defensive scheme and hopefully implementing the Patriots' OL drafting philosophy which stands a good chance of producing and maintaining an average or above average OL for reasonable costs for a long time, without using too many draft resources. Those things really have me drooling over our potential.

But, it's a QB-driven, precision offense, based on high mental ability and consistent scheme discipline … so there's lots that can break down and not a lot of room for error. That isn't the type of system that has suited us in the past, as we've tended to be a team with sloppy discipline, inconsistent players, and lots of injuries.

The Patriots' coaches curse is something I'm hoping we can overcome though, mostly because of the volume of people implementing the system so we have sort of overlapping assurances that the whole plan will be implemented, not just parts of it. I have a lot of faith in the defense becoming good in a couple of years, because the system is very sound. But I'm keeping an eye on Chad O'Shea and this offense … because we need a lot to go right for it to really start to work.

Sure, I'm onboard with the multi-year rebuild, and I am extremely pleased with the accumulation of draft picks for next year. IMHO, that's a very wise plan! Particularly with 2020 being a strong QB draft. As long as we don't skip the first round QB in 2020, I'm completely behind that plan.

But, there are a lot of variables, and I'm not as confident as some that it's all going to work out.

Maybe it's the offseason and that always brings optimism, but yes I feel the Miami Dolphins are finally heading in the right direction.

Brian Flores is bringing in a system that has proven to be successful in the NFL for about 20 years. The system is fluid, adaptable, multiple and allows a team to match-up from week-to-week against opponents that bring different challenges to the table. That, more than talent, has made the Patriots the longest dynasty in NFL history. That plan also gives Miami a strong foundation.

The draft inched the Dolphins a little bit closer, but the trade for Josh Rosen could be huge. To me, he seems like the absolutely perfect fit for a New England type offense, which focuses on quick reads and getting the ball out to the teams' playmakers.

Miami has a ways to go talent-wise. I'm not sure yet who the starting defensive ends will be. The right side of the offensive line could be terrible. But, if Rosen is the guy that will go along way toward rebooting this franchise in a major way. That quarterback position is just so critical. Could Miami have finally gotten that one right? I think there's a good chance they did. And if they did, Miami is one giant sized step closer to actually mattering for the first time in a couple of decades.

I dont really see Josh Rosen as a gamble at all. He is as low risk as it gets.
