Jets Fire Gm Adam Gase Steps In As His Replacement

It's hard to get shocked these days, but I'm shocked!

Sorry no link but on phone and just pulled into grocery store. Mistake #1 or #10 for jets. Was just reported they fired GM and VP of operations and named Gase GM. Huge mistake for them. No way he let's William's have any say on D since they dislike each other

If rumors are to be believed the Jets FO and Gase/Williams disagreed on a lot of moves this offseason. One report was that Williams specifically wanted Josh Allen or Ed Oliver for his D.
It was said by Pro Football Network, who broke the rumors about the dysfunction that Williams was a major issue the second he walked in the door.

First he forced Gase to hire his son, who Gase did not want. Then Williams was not involved with draft process at any point. He relied on scouts to compile a ranking of players and then picked based on who they rank higher. Just dysfunction everywhere there

Jets doing the same crap we were doing for years: mismatching GM and HC. If they wanted to fire the GM they should have done it when they fired Bowles. Not our problem but it will be hard for them to find a good GM to work with crazy eyes.

Since Gase does not like the Bell signing (maybe he was too young at 27) it is just a matter of time when they will go on a crash course.

Gase the head case strikes again lol. While I thank him for helping lead the Fins to the playoffs in his 1st year while here, his ego seems huge and there definitely seems something "off " about him.

Oh and **** the Jest . I hope we sweep them this upcoming season.

Yep....he's a "legend in his own mind" egotist who thinks he can act like Belichick despite having NONE of that type of cred. Not only that, it seems very evident that Gase has insecurity/inferiority issues....just look at him when he speaks, head down, ball cap lowered over his eyes, etc.

Thank God he's gone from here....he did his best to ruin the Dolphins by getting rid of any talent that challenged him (or....whose "cred" was greater than his) and any dominating personalities...hopefully he'll ruin the Jets fully.

Has a GM ever been fired right after a draft like this? So strange. So Jets.

Not sure. It is probably OK that he was fired. I think he was on the hot seat anyways. But the timing....
Under normal circumstances you would think that an existing GM would be involved in a coach search and that the organization would make sure that the GM and coach are on the same wave length. Something went definitely wrong on that end.

Gase also bought himself another year now in case it all goes haywire for the Jets. He can always say: those were not my players. I didn't get them. Does that sound familiar?

I can’t wait for the Jets dumpster fire lol. Gase will try to make an example by cutting/trading players by week 5/6. Claim that they players aren’t learning the system. It’s going to be glorious! Oh, Bell...he will not last. Bell will be gone by no later than week 5/6 in 2020.

Y'all just don't understand Gase's vision for that franchise. He's got his eyes on the prize.

The GM just couldn’t see eye to eye with Gase. Then again, who could?

Just saw that Jets fired their GM and named Adam Gase acting GM.

So with HC duties AND GM responsibilities, how does this affect the Fins chances vs the Jets, and the Fins' AFC East competitiveness?

I think the Jets are about one Gase meltdown away from falling apart.....and training camp can't even begun...

Way too early to tell. Don't get me wrong: very little gladdens my soul like seeing the Jets behave like the Jets (especially when Rex was the coach), but let's wait until the wheels really fall off the bus--say, October. Until then, enjoy the ride.

It is encouraging in the sense that now the locker room is destabilized. Depends on who they hire to fill that role. Right now it will be hard because of the odd power structure, egotistical head coach and future job security. It is not a great position to step into. Bot like the Jets are a respected franchise either
