Jets Fire Gm Adam Gase Steps In As His Replacement

The Jets clearly have the better talent on the roster and will probably finish with a better record than the Dolphins this year, but the idiot in charge will implode that team and Miami should overtake them in the division in 2020 or 2021 the latest.

The Jets have some talent especially at safety and along the defensive line. They have a young and up and coming QB and a good group of WR's. Gase is going to run that team into the ground. He'll trade anyone who he feels "Doesn't Fit" and leave the team in worse shape. Coaching was the issue in New York and with Gase there now, it won't improve. Gase is an egotistical and narcissistic maniac. The owner should be ashamed of himself for hiring a guy, who just doesn't have what it takes to coach beyond an offensive coordinator.

Imagine where we'd be if we got rid of Chris Grier and put Gase in charge while he was here!

Cimini on 1050 spilling all the tea. HOO BOY. Highlights:

—Chris Johnson wanted Gase and got Maccagnan to go along with it, and they spun it to make it sound like Macc was more involved in the hire than he was.

—Gase DID NOT WANT Gregg Williams.

—Gase wanted the Browns job to the point that Peyton Manning called the Browns first. Jets were the fallback.

Gase displayed an overarching desire to appoint coaches and recruit players that he knew from his former roles. His coaching staff at the Jets already displays the same penchant with Dowell Loggains, Bo Hardegree, Shawn Jefferson, Joe Vitt (his father-in-law), Frank Bush and Andre Carter all following him from Miami to NY. (Is Chris Foerster out of rehab yet if the O-line underperforms?).
Now we wait for Gase to appoint a lackey as his right hand man in administration and another in player personnel to get more of his boys around him. (Isn't it a pity Ryan Tannehill landed in Tennessee and Jay Cutler retired - although he found a spot already for Luke Falk as a Jet (he also has Julius Thomas' number on speed dial in case of a tight end emergency)).
I actually thought that the Jets had a pretty good off-season in free agency and the Draft - which is pretty ironic since Maccagnan was the GM who delivered the players like Le'Veon Bell, CJ Mosley and drafted Quinnen Williams.

It doesn't make any difference to us. The Jets management has nothing to do with our team.

At this point in the season it's fair to say we are in control of our own destiny without regards to any of our competitors.

Let me add that if we don't have a better record then the Jets this year, there is going to be some real hell to pay!

I understand where Gase is coming from there. I was shocked that Bell got that kind of contract. Forget about who gave it to him. The idea that a running back of that age and with a serious knee injury in his background could sit out a full season, and then expect a massive contract, seemed like a total miscalculation to me. More power to him. I thought it was one of the great employee success stories of the salary cap era.

Darron Lee has always been viewed as a disappointment. Every Jets fan I know has always hated him. But I understand the frustration at shipping him at such low level of return. Gase has continually demonstrated he doesn't care about that type of thing. Once you are on his enemy list, so to speak, you are as good as gone. Lee had poor teammate and locker room unpopular whispers, just like some of the things assigned to Ajayi here a couple of years ago.

The Jets just got rid of a general manager who drafted Christian Hackenberg in the second round. I'm a bit miffed that Dolphins fans are supposed to celebrate.

Glad he didn't get the Browns job. He doesn't deserve a franchise QB after blocking attempts to upgrade the QB position here.

Bell will be gone. He won’t survive Gase for even 2 seasons

Yeah, I give it one season or less. The wheels are already starting to fall off for the Jets, and Gase is just doing his typical God complex overture.

So glad that Adam Gase is with the Jets, it couldn't happen to a better guy and franchise. Just waiting for the inevitable exodus of players, under the guise of "Gase guys," and the maelstrom with Christopher Johnson that's surely coming.

I give Adam Gase two seasons before he's run out of the league for good, once and for all. The guy simply can't handle strong personalities, or dared be question with his approach.

I hate the guy.

What gets me is that Gase did the exact same thing here in Miami and the Jets bought into that "offensive guru" crap. They thought he had the humility and integrity to learn from his ego-driven mistakes in Miami. WRONG!
