Mark Walton

Haven't peeped a peep negative about Flores + Grier so far but this move is a tad disappointing
on the surface... Most important -- if it somehow blows up in our face the risk factor was
(a) unnecessary and (b) not worth it.

I mean does anyone think this kid could displace Gaskin?

So I'd have to assume his best bet is to land on our PS.

I just don't think the risk is justified.

He’ll be suspended for a good chunk of games, so he won’t count against our roster, correct? If we have a running back injury while he’s suspended, he can just slide on to the roster and help. If not, thanks for your time, Mark. It’s just securing an extra player in case of need. Smart.

As was mentioned in an earlier post, I can't recall by whom, it's not crazy to think a 2018 4th round pick has a chance of beating out a 2019 7th round pick. Especially considering their playing styles and similar size. I'm not saying Walton will make it, but we all might want to pump the breaks on assuming a 7th round pick is a lock to make the roster.

I assume Walton will open the season on the suspended for two or four game list and won't count toward the 53. So the Dolphins might not have to make a final decision on which on goes on the practice squad until a few weeks into the season. Also by that time all the NFL teams will have trimmed down their rosters and set their practice squads so I would say don't rule out Miami finding someone they like even better than Walton or Gaskin on the market come mid-September.

My take = seriously doubt the R4 vs. R7 is remotely applicable in this case for several reasons. #1 Gaskins was drafted by this org this year and by default if either has an advantage in that case the tilt goes to Haskins. #2 Gaskins doesn't come with significant baggage. #3 Both players will be evaluated based on their performance and "intangibles" and I believe Gaskins will win that comp outright.

Barring an unforeseen event -- I believe Gaskins has a very high probability to make the 53. I seriously doubt Walton has any chance. Like I said -- he's PS material at best IMO -- and for that reason I don't think he's worth the space on the 90.

Man, I wish Nathan could have played longer with Marino. The fit with those two together just worked. If Shula would've got rid of Olivadotti and the defense would've been better. What could've been?:ponder:

If Shula was good at personnel acquisition, he wouldn’t have had Olivadotti on the staff so long. He also would’ve been able to find a running game at some point. 15 years plus with a one dimensional offense. I’m sure Marino appreciated that lol

What makes you say he's a wannabe gang banger? Because he had a weapon in his car or because he had a small amount of weed? I've seen middle age suburban housewives who have carried a gun and who have used marijuana and I would have never drawn the conclusion that they were wannabe gang members. I'm not saying he has a track record of making good decisions, but I think sometimes we make an assumption that if a person is black and has a weapon that they're a thug. Al number of people carry a gun for different reasons.

Heard that one too many times. Funny how you never hear these types of words thrown around in hockey, baseball, or tennis. I’ll leave it at that.

Just give it time...

Things I learned today:
  1. Felony assault with a deadly weapon his just as bad as a concealed carry without a license.
  2. Domestic violence where the victim claims she was choked until she was unconscious is just as bad as a battery stemming from taking someone’s phone to stop them from recording.
  3. Namor was one of the precogs in Minority Report.
tl;dr Mark Walton = Lawrence Philips

LOL!!!..Whatever ,social justice warrior...LOL

Gentlemen, let's watch how this thread is progressing. Remember the TOS, and remain civil with each other.

The thinly veiled racism didn't take long to rear it's head. Awesome.

Thugs and gangsters come in all colors. To call Mark Walton what he is, is not racism. It is acknowledgement of his stupidity.

Gee... I've already been arrested twice, let's take this loaded, unpermitted weapon along for a joyride, I want to feel like a man.
