It's based on scheme first. The pats use multiple plays early in the game and tend to feel out how those plays are being defended throughout the game. As the game progresses routes/combos are changed based on the looks defenses are giving on those plays. It requires an intelligent QB because he needs to know what the adjustments are, where every receiver is supposed to be.If Josh is correct and we are running the Pats offense , I suppose it's a quick throw, run half the time offense?

It has won SB's, so I'm not unhappy about it.
The second is timing. Receivers must be strong route runners who can be in the right position every play.
The third is separation. If you see the Pats roster you notice guy that are very small but quick. BB tends to sacrifice speed for quickness. His recievers always test in the 83rd percentile or better in terms of 3 cone and 20 yd dash.
