Breaking Down The Contenders In Dolphins' Te Competition

As good as Gesicki can be as a receiving weapon, if you can work with him enough to become decent, or OK using his big bodybto at least slow pass-rushers, he is far to valuable as a TE, to move to WR.

Gesicki is not a tight end..just because someone is his size, doesn’t mean he should be considered such, he’s the absolute worst blocker I’ve seen come into the league at that position..so in what sense should I consider him to anything but a large wide receiver..

He cannot be put in situations on the LOS that a real tight end could..you simply cannot jeopardize him, the play or his teammates...so I don’t understand the need to categorize this young man as such..

Too late, he's already gained a ton of weight. Hope it works out for him.

Geisicki and Allen are locks. I could see Smythe spelling Allen and O'Leary spelling Gesicki. In my opinion Walford is average in both blocking and receiving, which gives him the power of versatility. I don't know anything about the undrafted Myarick. If they run a similar offense to the one in NE, I could see them keeping 4 and dressing 3.

4 unless they decide the auburn kid can play someone’s role.

Likely O’Leary’s

We have too many TE's. With Gesicki, smythe, Nick Oleary, Dwayne Allen, Walford. Gesicki or Smythe might get cut.

Wish we still had Charles Clay. Guy left to Bufallo and never produced for them but I felt he would have been great all of these years had he stayed playing for us.

The dude is absolutely NOT a blocker -- just fundamentally can't get leverage and
looks downright awkward attempting to block... We have to hope he turns into a
pass catching monster (or at least a big scary) to justify his "position" whatever
it's termed as...

Big test for the new staff.

Gesicki looks awkward doing almost everything. It is a strange departure from test scores to how he moves on a football field, almost to the point it shouldn't be possible.

Golf message boards have been befuddled by Brooks Koepka for a couple of years. Widespread debate. He does virtually nothing in regular events. I've followed him many times in Florida events and feel like I'm being cheated. It looks like he's giving 50% effort, or less. But in majors he's consistently excellent and often borderline dominant. That leads to the confusion because there are no parallels and on the surface it makes little sense.

Every time Koekpa shows up in a major you have to anticipate someone who doesn't at all resemble his week to week form. Every time Mike Gesicki shows up you have to expect someone who doesn't resemble those SPARQ scores, or all the hype.

That's what I'm going with. I don't prefer outliers but at any given time a handful of them are more than valid.

If he gains weight he'll look like a heavier guy with bizarre disconnect between upper body and lower body.
