It Is Rare...

It's okay the season will be funny..... it will be funny

We don't know what to expect from this new regime, new Qbs, coordinators etc. -- that may part of it. We are all numb to losing at this point and most us of just expect it. My excitement will start with the first preseason game. I think I am feeling quietly confident instead of being optimistic per usual.

All will be cool went we beat the Ravens game one!

Naw, I'm very excited about this season.

I had NO excitement for last season.

I was not a big fan of Gase, and the fact that they did not have

ANY KIND OF PLAN AT QB...

other than getting down on their knees and praying

had me completely disgusted BEFORE preseason even started.

I am seeing 55 to 1 odds for the Finz to win the AFC EAST haha 22 teams have better odds to win the super bowl.

Im excited for football though. Really excited to watch college football to see our future QB.

My excitement stems mostly from watching players develop, watching for a diamond in the rough to appear, etc etc. There's always a slight possibility we surprise and become instant contenders, but that's so unlikely, I don't even consider it.

The biggest concern for me though is still the OL. Year after year the OL is in shambles and we expect decent play from the QB behind them. I hope we found a staff that knows how to put a working OL together.

Better coaching and QB play will help the OL.

As I get older (been a Dolphins fan since the very early 70's) I tend to find the Dolphins and the NFL as entertainment rather than anything bigger. I rarely get excited about much with the team.

I have been officiating youth, high school and semi-pro football for years and I have seen how the decline in sportsmanship at all levels has taken the joy out of the game and the participation numbers are starting to reflect on this. This bad behavior comes from the fans, coaches and players. The blatant disrespect towards each other, the coaches and the officials is disgusting and no one has the guts to say or do anything about it. When a semi-pro coach this past Saturday made a comment along the lines of "That is a BS call and you are an f'ing idiot" he seemed surprised when he was tossed. Adult decisions, adult consequences. The funniest thing about it was that the head coach told me that it was about time. If he felt this way, why didn't he say or do anything to rein in his own coach? Civility is at an all-time low and I don't see myself officiating too much longer. It just isn't worth it anymore. I usually use my officiating income for vacations but I will find other ways to fund it to avoid the crap on the field.

It's not, of course, that I have choosen how I am feeling. I want to feel like I have ALWAYS felt prior to opening day - CRAZY WITH EXCITEMENT! But that's not case for me going into 2019-20. IAs an illustration, it's like driving along with a flat tire. At least that's the vibe I am experiencing. And I have remained very upbeat/positive, and loyal with the Dolphins especially so during the rough times. That what makes this offseason, for me, so very weird. I can't explain it.

It's all good brother... we will be here when you come back around...:munch::cheers:

This upcoming season is probably the least excited I have been in my lifetime for a new season to start.

I am somewhat excited with a slight wait and see attitude.

THE GOOD....

RECIEVERS:

Miami has very good to possibly great receivers (If FA rookie Williams is the real Deal).

RB:

As far as RB, not only am i very confident in Drake, I love what Miami has behind him. With Miami getting a FB, hopefilly 3rd and short will less of an issue this year.

D-Line:

If Miami does indeed go to a 3-4, I love what Miami will be able to use on the line.

Secondary:

Other then how good can the 2nd corner position be, Miami has a very good chance at being exceptional.

The Bad...

The O-line is still at best a work in progress, and though I feel the line may be a bit better then last year, losing a starting tackle and one of your better linemen does not help to promote confidence.

Pass-rush:

Where is Miami going to get any type of pressure from. Though I am one of the few, if not the only one that thinks Harris will be much better at 3-4 LB, he needs to start proving something.

Front 7 in 4-3 Defense:

I really do hope they go to 3-4, because in a 4-3, this front 7 will be as inconsistent or maybe even more inconsistent then last year.

Still to be answered....

Coaching:

I personally love how good this coaching staff can be, but we really don't know for sure, but if they are for real, expect some of the negatives up there to be a none matter...same can be said if they're horrible, and some of the possitives.

TE:

The TE position was not used the right way last year, but I believe there is talent at the position...Can the coaches get it out of these guys?

QB:

Here it is the position, and it's a big question mark. If Rosen proves himself to be the real deal, with the weapons he has, this team will be successful this year. If Fitz end up playing more then Rosen, then this team will eilther be bad, or mediocre...Either way,Miami will be in the market for another QB.

This should be a very interesting year.

I'm more interested than I have been in years. Not sure that translates to being excited, because this year's team will very likely be bad. But there are some good young players on the current team, we're going to have a bunch of picks and cap space next year, and there's a chance that Rosen can be a solution at QB with the ability to upgrade if he isn't.

I was tired of previous regimes acting like this team was a couple of players away from a Super Bowl, or that the right coach was going to turn Ryan Tannehill into Peyton Manning. For the first time in a long time, the Dolphins seem to have faced reality: they aren't playoff contenders, let alone Super Bowl contenders.
