Schad: Josh Rosen – This Is Your Miami Dolphins Moment, Seize The Job

The question is ..what is Rosen doing to get better in the offseason? The greats work at their craft in order to be the best. I have not heard a peep on that front which tells me the guys just thinks he is going to get better by just simply showing up to training camp.
Jmo, I feel the guy needs to train to get his body a little more developed and stronger..so I hope to see a little difference in that dept..

In the gym training, on the field drills..that’s what I would of had him do this offseason..

I think Rosen will eventually show out as a solid QB. Most of Miami's coaches and several in the F/O are from the New England tree and as we all know NE was very high on Rosen. I'm not expecting much in 2019 from him, but am hopeful he'll show enough to give Miami something to think about in the offseason, in terms of how they approach 2020 and the potential of selecting another QB. What a position to be in? The kids obviously got talent and was put into a very bad situation in Arizona. We all complained about Miami's Offensively Offensive Line over the past few years, just imagine how much worse Arizona's offense was with that putrid line playing in front of him. It's almost as if Miami's in a position of having to select another Franchise Type QB next year, in spite of Rosen being on the roster.

I feel this post misses all the points.

Rosen's 1st year in the NFL had him under successive changes in coaches and a terrible offensive line plagued with injuries, all on the same team.

This year we will see how Rosen progresses under our new coaching staff.

How he does in training camp will be limited by:
* How often will the coaches use him?
* How well he performs with the opportunities he gets?
* How will our new coaching staff use him?
* How well does he work with his team mates?
* Can demonstrate the discipline to work within any given play that's called as opposed to dealing with broken plays.
Dealing with broken plays is an "option of last resort" is not something to waste time practicing on, except for planned escapes by rolling out as part of the play options.
( It's a case of not going backwards rather then a desperate attempt to gain ground that most often results in an interception or fumble or a penalty ).

Note: none of these things has to do with the "showing us what he has" mentality that many of the lemmings are calling for. It is only showing the coaches what he has that is important. This will probably be entailed in the little things like knowing when not to throw it instead of trying to force a play out of a bad situation. That kind of mentality is the "option of last resort". Even then it is more important not to let the team find itself in that kind of position then to make a game changing play at the cost of getting further behind.

Remember, the QB can only work with what he has on the field in conjunction with the play being called by the coaching staff.

Football is the ultimate team sport!

I would not be shocked to see it unfold like this.....

Miami drops to 0-4 after losses to Baltimore, New England, Dallas and the Chargers.

Rosen gets his first start on 10-13-19 against the Washington Redskins. Rosen vs Haskins.

Unless Rosen comes out and puts up a Pro Bowl caliber year the plan should still be a QB in next year's draft. It would be a total Dolphins move to pass on next year's crop of QBs because Rosen put up a modest statistical season.

Rosen will seize the opportunity and lead us to 8 wins in his 10 starts. We just need 2 from Fitz to get us into playoff contention.

All the lemmings who don't believe in the Chosen One will be proven wrong.

I sincerely believe the second the Rosen trade went down we were out of the running for a QB in the 2020 draft.

I agree with you. The trade scared me for the exact reason you've stated. I believe the top 3 QB's in 2020 are better than Rosen. Unfortunately I think Miami has other plans for 2020.

I believe he didn't have a chance in AZ...I don't know how much better our oline will be

Get his confidence back after getting his brains beaten in.

Arizona dropped him a year later after spending a top ten pick on him. We wont be afraid to either.
