Dolphins Fire Ol Coach Pat Flaherty; Dave Deguglielmo Promoted

Wow, love it though. No one is safe! Let’s go Flores, big move from the rookie coach.

I remember reading an article where Flores mentioned that Dante Scarnecchia was the coach he learned the most form at this time from the Pats. Hope that was part of this.

I’d bet that today’s position group meeting with the rest of the staff triggered this

“I can’t make chicken salad out of chicken **** coach flo!”

Or maybe they watched the position group tape and flaherty threw up his hands and said “I’m out of here” and walked out.

I had read the offensive line was already struggling so the fact they did something about, BEFORE the season even started is impressive. I've been saying wins are the only thing that will impress me about Flores and his staff. But this? This give me a little bit of hope. Still not entirely sold but they definitely get some kudo points for this.

Obviously we don't know the behind the scenes reason for this
and it could be anything from some form of friction between Flores
and Flaherty to something in terms of basic job performance that
Flores didn't like. Whatever the reason -- best to move 'em in and
out if you're NOT getting what you want rather than stick with
a bad hand...

Obviously sends a message... Fairly likely we'll be aggressive in
seeking solutions...

I mean, this is a new approach with having a no-nonsense approach with coaches ...we endured FAR too much of the bearded wonder at DC this is really nice to see.

Flores is starting out on the right foot, showing he knows exactly what he expects out of his coaching staff and he'll make the requisite moves to get there. Good **** Flo!

A proactive coach instead of a reactive one? Nice. Maybe if Flores was around previously we wouldn’t have been stuck with Matt Burke for 2 years.

still... I’m not sure there’s much any OL coach can do with this group before 2019 begins. If and after we draft a quarterback next year, we need to go heavy on the OL picks. Missing quality starters and serviceable depth bad.
