Undrafted Rookie Wr Preston Williams Makes Explosive Preseason Debut For Dolphins

How about that catch early in the 2nd quarter that didn't count bc of PI?!

Preston had a sick night and I'm excited about his potential. We need a big, sure-handed WR that can win jump balls and make tightrope sideline catches.... it'll go a long way to building Rosen's confidence as he runs for his life due to our porous O-line. He's not going to have much time to throw and Preston can make a good safety valve.

There is no way in the world Williams goes to the practice squad...Miami tries to stash him, and he will be claimed long before he even officially reaches the practice squad.

When you have a monsterous talent that still needs to learn a bit more, you allow him to learn on the job.

He is definitely making the 53 man roster. The contested catches were incredible. Very promising for the future. I don't know who he was facing in coverage but it looked like he was pretty well covered and made the catches anyway. As excited as I was last night, now he needs to do it again.....and then again against #1 & #2 corners, consistently. DVP is nervous. I like the chemistry with Rosen.

He even looked good on those couple of pass interference calls, like he had himself in good position and looked like was ready to make the catch barring the penalties.

The catches he made were unbelievable last night. This wasn't some fluke stat line where a no name DB fell down or something and he got a big gain because of it, he was making one tough contested catch after another. There is a lot of reasons for optimism with him right now, hopefully he keeps his head on straight.

The most jaw-dropping play from Preston Williams’ explosive debut for the Miami Dolphins was planned out ahead of time. As the Dolphins went through warm-ups before their preseason-opener against the Atlanta Falcons at Hard Rock Stadium, Williams practiced a fade route down the left sideline, making sure to punctuate it with a one-handed catch with his left hand.

Check out the Falcons #89 on the sidelines in the slomo. He's like "I wish I could do that"

I like that he can go up and make the contested catches, but he didnt get any separation. That aint gonna work against CB1s

I haven't seen a WR play like that in preseason for the Phins for as long as I can remember. It's not just the production, it's the fact that nearly every catch was a highlight reel catch.

What a huge opportunity for this kid and for the Phins. Let's hope neither screws it up.

I'll tell you what's different. For years, fans have seen Miami pass on players many of us thought would be good pro players and had to watch as they DID play quite well for the team smarter than Miami. PW changes that . . . assuming his 1st performance is no fluke. It will be a good feeling to have fans of OTHER teams complaining about who they missed.

Some people have to act like they're smarter than everyone and will just say the opposite of what's trending.

Smart isn't going by dissing on a player that is showing he deserves to be wearing a Phin uniform come the start of the season if he continues to play like that. Hell it's not like we have been spoilt by seeing a player light it up in a pre-season game. Not for a while. Especially one that didn't come with expectations by his lack of a draft pick. I'm rooting for him big time as it's about time we had a lil gem come through.

Exactly. If you can't see he's got some skill we rarely see, then sucks for you(them).

Watching Williams looking like hes a natural and reading a few 'fans' get on his case. My 1st thought was "seriously?" With all the players our team have drafted over the years and basically do jack im amazed we even have the tumerity or arrogance to have a cheap pop at a player making great plays. I hope Williams continues as he doing. Make the squad, get on that Offensive Unit and then contribute. Small steps. :)
