Salguero - Neither Rosen Or Fitzpatrick Will Be The Dolphins Long Term Quarterback

Which recent example would you prefer? The Mahomes one from last TC or the Trubisky one from the year before?

I'm not saying Rosen is either of those guys, but let's not pretend that good QB haven't had shaky Training Camps and then just torn it up afterward, either. Because that's nonsense.

Well Trubisky is not a good qb and I didn't know Mahomes had a bad preseason or TC.

Rosen will improve with time and thanks to his contract the Dolphins have enough time to be patient. The question is his ceiling, slow decisions won’t win him any job.

I think Rosen just needs to build confidence and he'll be a pretty good QB. Good enough? Idk but its also hard to build confidence if you don't have any time to scan the field

I was praising the jump that Rosen took from the scrimmage to the Falcon game. He is looking more comfortable. If he continues improving like that he's going to win some people over on this forum. What blows my mind is people already saying he's not the solution. Trust me, nobody knows that yet. What I see is a guy with extremely rare arm talent who is prototypical size who is intelligent and still super young. He is surly not Kyler Murray or Mahomes but Rosen is a classic drop back passer who can absolutely chuck the ball with accuracy. Rosen has quick feet and a pocket presence along with escapability. He needs to mature in the way he handles himself in games but he's only 22 years old playing his first game in a Dolphin uniform, an exhibition game, and some of you are already counting him out! How about let's see how it plays out before reaching any conclusions? Considering the way the o-line played I would consider that more than fair.

Gonna disagree. He looked pretty good at the end of the season last year.

Fortunately, he's got Adam Gase on the case now to **** him up.
How do you disagree with 15 picks in 13 games? And that doesn't even count his penchant for fumbles. He turned the ball over a lot at USC, turned it over a lot his rookie year but now he's going to stop cause Gase is there?

If Miami would have drafted that guy half this board would have been ready to move on and draft another QB.

Really? Perhaps you should be heading our scouting department because you must see something nobody else does.
Have you actually watched Rosen play? What do you see that screams franchise QB?

Yep, I watched him play last year with a worse OL than Ryan had last year and a preseason game this year with a worse OL than he had last year. You’re argument makes no sense because I never said he had the goods but I’m saying there’s no way you can say he doesn’t have it based on the crap he has had to play with.

I'm not disagreeing with that. Again, I'm talking about the end of the season. He looked like a completely different QB when he came back from injury. Even including the ass-whupping the Jets got at New England to close out the season, he threw 6 TD and 1 pick in the three games before that.

Regarding the Gase bit, I'm thinking you didn't read my post all that carefully.

I want Rosen to be the man but this look worst than thill17 as our qb. Fitz will look good for maybe 2 game than get bench by week 4. I can understand his point Sal. we just got see what happen. Rosen is what people are watching. nobody really care about Fitz. if Flores want remain HC he better find QB. or else he will be just like rest of Dolphins HC fired.

If the Dolphins wanted Rosen to succeed they would of put a better offensive line in front of him. He is not nimble or quick and he still some what slow to read a defense, he needs a better o-line than some of the more mobile QB's - it's either bad scouting or bad planning by the front office.

Going to be sack city come regular season and he is going to get pummeled this year and look bad in the process. Tannehill had a better o-line his 1st year. Bye the time Brady had his bad offensive lines he already was a fast reader of a defense and they has quick receivers on short patterns, Miami has better receivers there just not quick.

He does have a good arm and is accurate and developed a nice connection with Preston Williams. By the end of the year the Dolphins won't know what they have in Rosen because they didn't give him the tools to be successful. Right now if the front office was smart they would move Kenny Stills but they won't because of the optics of the situation. Move Preston Williams into the starting line up, pick up a 3rd round pick and save 9.5 mil to move to 2020.

Don't understand why we spent our 2nd round pick on him if this is there plan, makes no sense to me, we should of put a better o-line in front of him or went in a different direction with our 2nd round pick the center McCoy and started to build the o-line for a new QB in 2020 or one of the safeties Thornhill or Adderley and started to fix the back end of the defense.

Grier shooting from the hip, Rosen price may have been to high at the start of FA and by the time it became reasonable all the o-line talent was gone, Dolphins could of still spent there 1st on a offensive line talent if they knew Rosen was coming.
