Three Takeaways | John Congemi Breaks Down Dolphins At Buccaneers

I thought Deluca looked bad. Bad angles. Slow. Don't care about his tackle numbers. Hes got no shot.

Oh personal attacks are cool? Good. Let’s get to it!

I’ll try to use pictures to express the point next time. Reading your posts gives me the indication... hm... how to say this

words ain’t gettin to your brain well

Ain't isn't a word. Probably shouldn't call someone stupid then use that word..

Thought I'd help.

Run defense looked pretty darned good for the 2nd week in a row. Maybe the D line isn't as bad as we all thought. Starters really didn't get much pressure last week, but we did this week once we mixed in some blitzing. I seriously doubt we have a boatload of sacks this season given our personnel, but if they really are significantly better against the run, and we can get a serviceable amount of pressure, I will take that. Oh, and Eric Rowe deserves some love. Looked good in coverage and in run support to me.

I dont think he meant was being weird in a mean attacking way. I laughed at both yalls post.

It was weirdly funny :-)

And I got your back on the ain't tho ;-) it definately is a word outside of a business meeting. :-)

How the heck was Harris good lol flores must be a miracle worker. Let's see that in a real game now

Think uneven is a bit of a slight to Rosen but certainly there is plenty there to continue improving on. The drops did not help him and once the key starters came out on the line it definitely became more of a challenge.

But he looked good throwing the football. The one low throw to Ford near the endzone it seemed as if he was concerned with the inside defender but to Congemi’s point that ball probably should have been thrown earlier instead of pump faking up to Gesicki . . . But I need to see the play again. The other questionable throw was the near pick to Williams . . . But that seemed like miscommunication. Good attempt down field to Williams late that nearly went for a TD. Certainly the lack of a passing TD in two games will stick out on the stat sheet.

I don’t think uneven is a slight on Rosen, really. I would describe it more as pedestrian. The OL provided better pass protection at the start of the game and Rosen made some solid throws, but there were plenty of low and behind the receiver throws, also. I also saw some throws short of the sticks, but that may be poor route running. When the OL broke down, Rosen ate the sack. The gift wrapped yet dropped throw for the pick was awful. In fairness to Rosen, it is a new system with non-existent run blocking and the receivers had some drops, but this was a pedestrian as it gets.

This is a former first round pick who had more hype than Mayfield. This was the QB who was the most NFL ready, but where is the flash of special talent? No deep throws, average arm strength, nothing special with accuracy or timing, average pocket awareness, etc. I still don’t get the hype. Name one thing about Rosen that is unique or special at this point. Again, I saw nothing that any other mid-level or below QB can’t offer. Also, no touchdowns, even with a fourth and goal.

Also coming down to earth a bit was Williams. Need to make the catches during contact. Kid struggled with catching, keeping his feet inbounds, and knowing where the sticks are. Hopefully, this was an aberration, because he could be huge for this team if he can get it together consistently.

Props to Eguavoen. That kid is making the most of his opportunity for sure. A really pleasant surprise.

Other things:

They got Charles Harris doing A LOT. He was rushing from the DE and DT positions, plus he was dropping back in coverage. That was a slick little move he did to get his solo sack, he will need more of that but I have to compliment him on his hustle . . . He does not quit.

Wilkins looked the part last night. I was impressed with everything.

Eguavoen looks like an ideal starting MLB. I wouldn’t pull him for Kiko or Raekwon tbh.

Baker looks so improved man, gotta finish those sacks but he is impressive.

Tunsil is the most important player on this team. Josh needs confidence in his blindside and Laremy gives him that. His health will be instrumental if Rosen has any chance of succeeding.

Sanders is Justin Tucker part two. It has gotten beyond effortless at this point.

That Dieter/Kilgore/Calhoun trio just lacks talent to be real good. It will be a work in progress all year to get them to consistently acceptable which would be great. Have to invest on the interior . . . With the lack of our own UFAs in 2020, it maybe a great time to go shopping in FA to address the OLine without worrying about the comp formula.
Really encouraged to see Charles Harris being able to competently fill the various roles. He was already kinda at the last chance saloon before Coach Flo arrived, so this has been encouraging.

It would be nice to have Harris somehow turn into an asset instead of a likely cut.

It would be so nice wouldn't it! Just when we'd given up … he comes good.

Good coaching makes the world of difference and idc if they are young coaches they definitely know how to coach defense

Absolutely. And coming out of Mizzou Harris was considered very versatile, so it seems this multiple defense really suits him too.

This is why I'm not ready to give up on McMillan either.

I thought Rosen did pretty good. There were a couple of times he was pressured and i expected him to eat it like i was so used to watching watching the last 7 seasons. Instead he stepped up and got the ball out.

I hope Flores names him the starter sometime this week and Rosen gets all the work going forward with the 1s.

Maybe we surprisingly underestimate how unqualified Matt Burke was to be a dcoordinator. Charles Harris looked good last night.
