Don’t Overthink This, Miami Dolphins. Your Starting Quarterback Should Be Josh Rosen | Opinion

Dude if he plays well why on God’s green earth would you trade him?????????

It’s up to the coach. If he looks like a top tier quarterback somehow with this supporting cast, obviously you keep him. But if he’s say average(which would be a feat considering the current talent level of this team), and Flores thinks one of the top picks in the draft next year will be a better option, he will be out of here. Rosen will have to look like a player with elite potential for coach to put his job on the line for him.

I think it brings up a good point though. How good does Rosen have to be to pass up getting one of the top qbs next year? The ideal situation is Rosen looks great and we’re able to use all of our draft picks next year to build up the team around him. I definitely think Rosen has to put on quite the show for that to happen though...

But like I had put on another thread. The same could be said for many teams including the Jets with Darnold and buffalo with Allen. Like you said it will be tough to have great QB play with this line and the team around him. You want to talk about putting your job on the line? Can you imagine him having a decent year and getting shipped out and then turns out to be better than the quarterback we draft?
I think with that contract you have to keep him no matter what happens this year. If he is OK and we draft a QB in the first you have to keep him. And if he blows we wouldn’t be getting much for him anyways

If Fitzpatrick is the starter we hired an idiot as the coach. It make 0 sense to play a journey man qb with this team. Give Rosen the full season to see if he could be the qb of the future. If he stinks, we get a top qb in the next years draft.

I don’t like the way the ball nose dives on rosen at times. You got to make that 4th down td throw to isiah ford.

Period

Agree, looks like he is trying to guide every ball instead of letting it rip.

Regarding that 4th down play, personally I didn’t like the route combination as it put too many players in the same area. If Gesicki runs a post there he at least occupies the inside defenders if not get a rub on a defender.

That’s probably the dumbest tweet I’ve ever seen which is saying a lot.
That entire crew hates Rosen and probably will never be able to fairly grade him. They wouldn't be my first stop for football analysis anyways. As far as QBs they have a bad history

I've stated that I'm fine with whoever starts...it means little as far as what the teams does at the end of the season...Rosen starts and is average...draft a QB, Fitz starts, Draft a QB, Rosen plays really well, I guess it depends who is there to draft at QB.

Right now, based off what has been shown in the preseason...Rosen should be starting week one. I could understand if he was a downgrade from Fitz, but at the very worse it is a wash and at best, he has played better.

I'm curious to see what the Giants do with Jones. He looks ready to play. I wonder if they're debating stashing him for more difficult games. I also believe we have a better team

Rosen should obviously be the starter. That said, the fact that they threw him out there with the C team offense the other night and then said "Huh, well, he wasn't great. Guess we're going to have to go with Fitzpatrick" indicates to me that this wasn't really intended to be a competition to begin with.

Now, I didn't want there to be a competition, but the problem here is that they seem to have handed the starting spot to the wrong guy!

rosen hes looked better than the much ballyhooed Murray AND Haskins.

we will not pick Tua anyways.
