Rf Starting Week One Is Not A Lock

Fitz has thrown 14 passes in the PS. He has only completed 5 of them for (35.7%). Obviously hard to get in a rhythm but Rosen has attempted 38 passes & hit the 60% mark. He made some great throws, horrific throws, had a WR (PW) make him look really good as well as really bad with drops.

Neither has thrown for a TD. Ruddock threw for 2 scores.

This game will show us a lot more but Rosen has shown enough to start, IMO.
Watch us start Ruddock!!!!!!!!!!! He He

they're trying to massage Fitzpatrick's feelings, he was never considered the long term answer for this team, he was brought in to be a backup to whatever young QB the dolphins was going to acquire, I do believe that if not Rosen this year it would have been some one else.

They need to put the kid in there and unleash him.

As Shula did with Marino.

I’m not saying Rosen is Marino or anything like it, but the best way to see what you have is to start him with the 1s while the O line is healthy, the receivers are the best we have, and see what he’s got in a no bullshit game situation.

Yes, he will struggle. But he will also learn RIGHT NOW. A few games in, he will settle down. THEN you’ll see what you have.

Otherwise, this whole business is academic, and a waste of a 2nd round pick. If Rosen fails because when he finally gets in our line is decimated with injuries, you won’t see what he can do other than run for his life.

If he fails because he didn’t get to play much, then we’ll pick a QB next year and this was a waste of a 2nd round pick.

Put the kid in.

Rosen probably comes in after the bye, protecting him from the abuse that is about to unfold in early September.

RF is good when there are no expectations. Put him in a game he is supposed to lose and he will put up career numbers but the next week 4 picks lol. We need to see if Rosen is our future QB. I would have him taking as many snaps as possible and start him week 1

It would make sense to start RF first 4 weeks of season and if Miami gets off to an 0-4 or 1-3 start JR game 5 following bye week.

It’s actually funny how often this garbage is recited. In his last 70 starts, Fitzpatrick has had 1 game with 4+ interceptions but everyone likes to think he has them every other game. 6.56 Any/a the last 5 years.

Agreed, some posters blow it a bit out of proportion. He obviously isn't as bad as some make him out to be, else he would have been out of the league 8 years ago.

The reality is, however, he has never been, nor will he ever be, a top 10-15 guy. He has always been a quality backup, and still probably is.

My opinion is there is no value in him being the starter beyond maybe the first couple weeks, and even that is debatable.

There's nothing to gain from him starting moving forward. At best he'll win 5 or 6 games with this team and we'll be drafting middle of the pack and still not know what we have with Rosen. By the time this team is ready to make a run(if they ever are) RF will be gone already. I'm ok with him being in Miami as a back up and mentor but starting him does nothing for our future and it'd not be enough for our present.

lol! way to pick your dataset... Add a couple of games and you add another 4 picks game... chose 3 picks plus and that number skyrockets!
