Source Indicates That The Dolphins And Jakeem Grant Are Close To A 4-year Contract Extension

Darron Sproles was a RB, Jakeem Grant is WR
I would think they look different

I like it, I mean I actually like both Wilson and Grant on this team. These 2 are actually OL savers for a lack of a better term. They'll allow 3 step drops to have a shot at very big plays leaps and bounds above average...

Gives you options go small go big, look for the mismatches....I like it to

Knowing the Guaranteed money and signing bonus will say how good a contract it is
he is still making the same money this year, it's just an extension, gets bonus money now that what you give to get them to sign early - have to look at the contract in terms of next years money not this years.

Yes I’m fully aware of that. I think it’s more meant to be similar usage with what the eagles did with sproles in his prime.

To which I say I can’t run a grant inside which limits what I can call for that ask and also gives the opposition a bit of a tell.

At any rate I hope this production picks up to a much more consistent clip than it’s been to date. Better have some grant packages in the works on game day.

similar usage - there not similar, except there both small and run fast and teams have a hard time finding way's to use there skill set.

I think what a lot of us are saying is to see how he is used this year there is untapped potential there, we know the production in the past may not warrant a contract of this size.

Tannenbaum is gone, he was the bad contract writer

If that’s the case why the hell is mccain still here? All he’s done is get worse

He was bad to begin with.

Because it's only year 2 of 3 lol. He just signed that extension last off-season. It's at minimum 2 years , but likely 3 unless he has an awful year.

I mean he was rated as one of the better nickel CBs in the NFL in 2017 so they were I guess trying to be proactive.

But to your point, before X, they treated the actual good performers with more of a wait and see (Juwan, Landry, OV, Lamar, etc) but the overperformers relative to draft status they tend to take care of.

The kid is explosive, and a threat to take it all the way, if the attention to him is not respected.

Is he consistently a huge weapon? No, but in the last year or two he has been getting much better.

With the right deal, he is a very welcome re-signing.

The #Dolphins are giving WR Jakeem Grant a 4-year extension worth up to $24M, source said. Grant, who gets gets $6M per year, has 34 career catches for 471 yards in 3 years.

Am I missing something how did we over pay. Don’t get me wrong I love Grant speed especially on Madden. But 6 Mil Wow

depends on what is guaranteed. i'm sure there is a cap friendly out after a couple years if it doesn't pan out. if he really comes on, it's a bargain. win-win.

Let's see the final contract before having a conniption. However, it is interesting to note that between Jarvis Landry, Ja'Wuan James and Jakeem Grant, the Dolphin who scored the big second contract is Jakeem.

There’s nothing in his game that looks Darren sproles like. Sproles has a frame for contact. You can’t run this dude inside.

They damn well better come up with ways to get this “playmaker” the ball.

Still nothing on the guaranteed money?

This is more like a really poor mans and I mean really poor mans tyreek Hill. He doesn’t have hills fire hydrant frame either.

And that’s before coming off season ending Achilles tear not even 12 months ago

I believe it was an achilles injury but not a tear
