Rosen: Post A Grade...

C for Fitzpatrick against the jags starters who are better than last years team. The team that our prior failure of a qb threw as many to passes to them as he did to the dolphins?

Fitzpatrick is trying not to get hurt since it is preseason and doesn’t mean jack.

Its not meaning less for Fitz, he's in a competition. Laughable that as guy playing not to get hurt recklessly trucked a defender.

What I liked last night was that on the play right after a big play (Rosen’s Pass to Ford or the 3rd down run for a first) we snapped the ball with more than 10 seconds left on the play clock. I think it was 17 seconds after the pass to Ford. Last year under Gase it was 0.0003 seconds or a delay of game.

The grade is def better than Fitzpatrick relative to age and experience. Start him day 1

That pocket climbing ability and maneuverability is the most impressive thing about him. He has that instinctual feel for backside pressure that you want to see. That's a positive. Still a bottom tier starter right now, but we'll see what can come of him, over hopefully a 16 game sample.

Dude is getting a lot of praise for throwing 0 TDs and 1 Int against 2nd and 3rd teamers.
Did you forget he made the throws to get to the point where a running back takes it in. it's more than just throwing TD's, if you get your team into position to run it in.. That's just as good.

B. Meaning I feel pretty good about Rosen and would be ready to give him 3 years (or 7). Certainly feel much more comfortable with him than I ever did with Tannehill. That being said, if we're in position to take a top QB prospect in the draft after a so-so season from Rosen, you still do it.

He does have to finesse his leadership, but I think he can and will. He's got the right stuff between the ears, reminds me greatly of Aaron Rodgers.

I am in favor of bringing Rosen along slowly. I don't want to David Carr him. Considering he plays in front of jail breaks constantly, he shows promise.

I like how he maneuvers around in the pocket. Tannehill is a good kid but he just never had a feel for the pocket. Even witnessing average feel for shifting around and resetting is a revelation.

We all remember SD having a young Drew Brees who had a rocky beginning. Then they drafted Rivers and they had the rights to two of the best qb's of the past two decades. Maybe we can get on that track if it all comes together.
