McIntosh or Carey at LT

it is very easy to rationalize that we are better off overall w/D Mac than FA or rookie LT, but whose to say D Mac is not as good as Jonas Jennings. Jonas Jennings may have been the top LT, but is nutin special

LMAO do players really buy that crap? Unless they get it put right into their contract I wouldn't buy any line like that. Not like there was much of an upgrade out there at LT. Basically the teams protected. If he shows up to how he played his final year in San Diego they got him on contract without having to dish out a $10+ signing bonus later. If not then they can ditch him before the season starts without having to even pay the incentives in the case that Smith or Carey beats him out.

Really good points.

I have to agree with most of these post...MacIntosh at LT is the better option and keeping Carey at RT or RG. With DMAC knowing Houck schemes, I see him thriving better at LT. Wade might be a good LT, but it will take some years of learning. I see a big hole to fill on this line and that the center. McKinney is not very good at reading defenses, as is howed last year. I would like to see use draft Wilkerson from LSU who knows Sabans system and is one the top rated centers in the draft. I see our oline like this:

LT-MacIntosh, Wade
LG-James, German
C-Wilkerson, McKinney
RG-Carey, Hadnot
RT-St.Clair

Swapping St.Clair and Carey is an option

I agree to a point...the question would be whether Wilkerson is available when we get around to our 3rd round pick...I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing St Clair moved over to center....then my make-up would be this...

LT - McIntosh, Wade
LG - James, German
C - St Clair, Wilkerson (best in camp starts regular season)
RG - Hadnot
RT - Carey/St Clair (if St Clair doesn't start at Center)

Wade Smith lost something between his rookie year and last year???? He got owned by any speed rushers in his rookie year and gave up 12 sacks on the year...The only reason he made the all rookie team as a LT was cuz there were no other rookie LT's that started the whole year.
Actually there was one other Rookie LT to start all year that year. Shoot can not remember his name... He was a first round pick, think out of Utah.

Anyway, Smith had some struggles his rookie year, but those were only when he played 'premier' pass rushers. Don't get me wrong, I was still not happy with that, but I was optimistic he could improve during the offseason...

Now I can HOPE Houck can make him better.

Ur right Oboy, Jordan Gross started all his games for the Panthers.

People, St.claire's too big right now to play center and if we take a center on draft day I hope is Jason Brown and not Wilkerson.

Ozzy rules!!

Oh yeah. I'd take Mac over Carey at LT. We drafted Carey because he was a great College RG.

it is a good sign that we resign dmac with his former coach here, HH must see suttin in him for HH to recommend that he stay.........if HH said he stunk, there is no way dmac stays

wilkerson may know sabans schemes but he is on offense, this will be linehans schemes
