0-4 and realistic expectations

Who still wants 6-7 wins this year?

That would set us farther back.

The Lions sucked BADLY for so long and now are going to roll of the next 5-6 years...

We sucked too but only got middle of the road draft picks...and here we go...

THe Lions are going up and We are going down.

We need a bad year this year...2 wins.

Aside from bragging rights, I could care less what this team does this year. If I had a choice, I'd like to see them sweep the Jets, split with the Bills, and beat the Redskins and Cowboys. Aside from that, go 5-11 and get a top 10 pick. I don't think they're in position to get Luck.

Gut reaction

When we were coming into the season, optimism was running wild. people had expectations of a 9 or 10 win season. Now that we are 4 games in, people are assuming that we are now the worst team in football and the head of the suck for luck sweepstakes.

The only issue with this is coming into the season, I looked at entering the bye at 1-3. the only difference between my expectations and reality is a loss to the browns.

coming up after a loss to the jets on monday night football, we have a stretch of 7 very winnable games. I see us coming out of that stretch, even without any homerism, winning 3-4 games. This makes it very difficult in my opinion to get luck.

thoughts on that stretch of games?

Unless there is a concerted, unaldulterated effort to truly "suck for luck", this team will win 4 to 5 games....placing us around the #5ish pick of the draft.....which just frankly......SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

This drafting position will insure we get a really good player, but guarantee that we will in no way, no how, no &^%%* way will have a chance at a franchise-changing player.........the insanity continues....

The thing is, the Dolphins are getting worse every week. Plus injuries are piling up every week and you have guys like Dansby playing injured with a bad leg (why he's looked atrocious lately and likely he will play injured all year long unless the injury gets worse and he hits IR like Carey hit IR last year after playing with an injury). Jake Long is also playing injured, etc etc. Hell, Miami's most productive offensive player (Daniel Thomas) has been on the shelf for half the games already as well, and didn't even make the trip to San Diego at all)

The team is just playing worse game after game. The team also doesn't have many instinctive players (why chemistry sucks so bad on this team and it can never be attained with this group), and they are going up against players on other teams who are far more instinctive. Now you add the fact that the players have even less confidence after a horrible start to the season, and their lack of instincts will show even more as the season goes along because they'll be even more tentative (And Hell, some have even decided to quit already!).. and why you're witnessing players making so many mistakes lately, and more than before. This is because bad teams make mistakes. And that's why they're bad teams in the first place

This is what happens when players have no confidence in themselves, no confidence with the leadership on the team, no confidence in the coaching staff, no confidence in their teammates playing right next to them, and losing confidence in the season in general.

The Dolphins are indeed getting worse. So don't expect those games to be victories later on. Look at last year when people expected Miami to beat the Lions, Bills, and Browns at home.. All losses, and all those poor teams Miami had at home.

Over the last 2 years the Dolphins have played worse and worse near the end of the season as well. Let's hope this trainwreck continues on it's wrecking path in spectacular fashion where Miami ends up with the #1 overall pick. Because boy does this franchise ever need Andrew Luck badly... in many ways besides from just the game aspect of things

the fins have lost 7 straight (back to last year). things aren't looking great, and I get that. I thought 8 or 9 wins to start the season. I figured with a defense that got us 7 wins last year, and an improved offense with reggie bush and a play caller from the 21st century, things would improve 1 to 2 games.

I guess I forgot this front office doesn't know how to use the talent it has, doesn't know what to do to groom new talent, and apparently the defensive schemes have been figured out. the defense is incapable of covering a receiver in the middle of the field, and offenses are taking advantage of that.

It's really weird after going through 1-15 and being miserable, that this year I find myself in such a state of apathy with this team so soon in the season.

I'm still hoping we get to 6 wins. It's unrealistic based on what I've seen so far, but I'd rather go into next year with some momentum.

As far as missing out on Luck, I could care less. I like other QB's in this year's draft class and I've been pleasantly surprised by Henne's play. Either a healthy and improved Henne in the redzone or Barkley/Jones/Foles will be fine IMO.

The Ravens and Bucs are doing just fine with mid 1st round QB's so I don't think it's necessary to have to be the worst team in the league to find a good QB.

a lot of that has to do with coaching too. you put flacco or freeman on this team and they flounder just like every other QB that's come through. you take Henne off this team next year and send him to be a back up for a team with good coaching, and he will succeed. we just don't have anyone on staff capable of "coaching up" a QB.

Look at John Beck... to "coach him up" they bring him in during the offseason and have him throw THOUSANDS of passes. then the season starts and he says his arm is fatigued... shocker.

I agree with 100 percent. I think we need to finally get a QB guru in here as either a head coach, OC, or QB coach. To me, I think Henne has grown tremendously with an upgrade at the OC position. If we got a top of line guy in here to help either Henne and or draft pick than I think we'll be fine at the position.

Defensively though we're going to need a lot of work.
