I've been thinking about it lately and i really don't think our offense will be that bad next season. Everybody knows how much better our defense is compared to our offense, but i think starting next year things will start to level out. First off we brought in an offensive genius to be our head coach. If you look at each position, we have some good players. Now even though our QB position might be the biggest question mark, other teams have won with worse QBs. If you look at the WR position, we have Chambers, Booker, Hagan and Ginn. That's a whole lot better than the Patriots and Chargers had last season. Our TE is David Martin, who has a lot of ability if he's able to stay on the field injury free. Our RB situation has a thunder and lightning attack with Ronnie and Lorenzo. Our FBs have been improved with Schlesinger and the Juggernaut. Last, but certainly not least, our O-Line should be much improved with a lot of depth. So looking at our offense as a whole and on paper, we have a lot more offensive weapons than some recently successful teams. Now with an offensive guru as our head coach, the sky is the limit for this offense. Team that up with our already stellar defense and you have the potential for an exciting 07 season!

I don't mean to dim your optimism, but it's too early to tell. Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping we've added enough playmakers and have the line settled, it's just that the games haven't been played yet. We'll have to see how it works out on the field before getting too amped.

i hear you, but at the same time the point i'm trying to get across is that teams have won with a lot less. now that we have an offensive head coach that is tremendous at running an offense, it's scary to think this team's potential with an already awesome defense.

I agree 100%, if at QB we can get good consistancy, this could be a much better team then people thought, at the very least we do have the talent.

The two teams you mentioned that have won with less have Tom Brady and Phillip Rivers, not to mention LT, and Gates. I like your optimizm but I am not getting to excited about this offense yet.
We upgraded at FB, downgraded at TE, probably stayed about the same at WR (you could argue we downgraded losing Welker) and we still don't have a starting QB. I am not sure that our OL is going to be better either, LJ Shelton is playing RT, we don't have a starting LG, we are depending on a rookie at Center and no one knows for sure yet how Carey will do at LT. You are right about our Coach, at least we can count on the play calling being better. But at this point, I would not bet on the execution being improved. This offense has potential but a lot of question marks at this point. Lets hope by the end of training camp those questions have been answered.

I think consistancy from the QB is exactly what we need with this offense. To be honest, I think that's what Trent Green would offer if we ended up getting him. I am a Daunte supporter and I think he didn't get a fair opportunity, but Green would be a better fit with this offense and he would help groom Beck. Smart play and low turnovers is what the Fins need from their QB and I think Green has the best shot at giving them that. Hopefully our QB position gets figured out soon so our offense has the whole summer to grow together.

i'm a c-pep supporter too but if he's not healthy you have to go woth green, but i think c-pep has more upside than Green, so green knows the offense "so what" you put the best qb out there, but atleast with this green trade taking so ling they can see where c-pep is , the chiefs aren;t stupid if a qb goes down in camp the have green, or they can trade him to another team for more

We added something we have lacked for years...SPEED.

To further your arguement, what are the names of the receivers Trent Green threw to during those winning seasons in KC? Sure he had Gonzo, Priest and then LJ, but we have playmakers and have better receivers than he ever had up there.

What did you think before last season. I was excited then to. You never know what is going to happen.

Yeah knowing the offense is so overrated.

I would like to see what Culpepper can bring, but there is no way that you can overlook what having Green would bring to this team. Culpepper might have the better down the field pass, but Green has better consistancy and isn't still recovering from a horrible knee injury.

I am also very optimistic for the upcoming season. I go by the phrase "if you score you may win, but if they never score.... you will never lose!" Yes, I know team will score on us, thats the nature of the beast. Our Defense will keep us in games, and barring 4th qtr lapses we will be in every game until the end. Our offense, while on paper should be an improvement and much faster, all we need out of them is to hold on to the ball and give the defense rest. I feel we should be able to hold any time under 17 points and our offense will score 17+ a game. This time of year is great. Optimism can flow like wine. Lets just hope it can flow all the way through the season and into the playoffs.

Your wrong, the cheifs are stupid, Green will not play another down for the Chiefs and he will retire before even considering another team besides Miami. Chiefs have one option and one option only. Take the 6th round draft pick or get nothing for him. C-pep is not the man for our team, he does not have more upside thant Green. C-Pep gives two ****s less about grooming Beck. Green will be more than happy to do that job while giving us at least one year if not two. I am not saying Green comes in and takes our team to the playoffs alone, but with our D and our Special Teams, our offense isn't going to have to travel the field all that much. Feeley may set a NFL record for most FG's in a season, but if we win by 1 point every game I will be all smiles. I don't see the Jets beating us this year in our division, and look what we did to the pats last year, so its not like we can't beat them. Last year people were talking about Miami being the team to beat and they sucked. This year people are questioning us everyday. A team can only be as good as the Coaches, and that says enough about the last few years.

You could add to that, if you never score...you will never win!

This thread epitomizes the Dolphins' fate since at least 2001. Every year their offense should be better, every year the QB situation should be improved, every year the defense should carrry the team, and yet every year since 2001 the Dolphins are sitting at home in January and every year they get eliminated from playoff contention earlier and earlier.

Do you not realize how HUGE of an impact a coach has on the team? Look at who has coached us these past few years. Peyton Manning could of been our QB and we still wouldn't of been great with our coaches.
