According to the Wall Street Journal, there are only actually 11 minutes of action in the average NFL game. If we split it up 50/50 between the offense and defense, that's only 5.5 minutes per unit.

5.5 x 16 games = 88 minutes.

They only spend 88 minutes playing actual football in 365 days! Plenty of rest, NO EXCUSES!
