That scenario showed just how inept Joe Philbin is at time management. Wasted 20 seconds with an overthrow by R.Tannhill. I was beyond frustrated.
Im more so at Steve Ross, clueless owner on what he sees right in front of him. Seems to be another long waste of a year

CORRECTION *HALF*

I don't understand how us fans can easily understand clock management in situations like that but an NFL HC cannot. I was so irate with the end of the half. None of it made sense. So much wasted time. It looked like high schoolers out there. Even after Tannehill ran to the 3 there was 7 seconds left but we take a TO at 2? Ugh Philbin is so clueless.

I agree, that was horrible. We should have been able to run several more plays.

i agree for the most part but what are we going to do with 7 seconds that we arent going to be able to do with 2? I think if they tried to run a play there and failed. Time would have run out before being able to take a TO.

And also, freaking Thomas was on the sidelines on that screen, but cut back in to get a measily two yards instead of running out of bounds!

Yes. To be fair, we can not risk running any plays with no TO's considering how often Tannehill likes to take sacks. So for us, 7 seconds or 2 seconds makes no difference. A good QB, then sure. You can trust him to try and throw a quick one with no timeouts. A Tannehill lead offense has to take the 3 points though.

The mistake there was Tannehill deciding to run when he could not reach the endzone. Had he simply thrown the ball away, we couldve taken another shot at the end zone.

With seven seconds you take three to look for an open receiver in the end zone. If it's not there, you throw it away burning another one or two seconds, leaving you wit two or three to kick the field goal.

If only we could have had some extra time back so we could watch Sturgis miss another FG. Damn you Philbin!

7 seconds allows one shot to the end zone. Easily.
