10 Miami Dolphins with the most to prove during OTAs and training camp

I think Long needs to be on this list.He has to prove he can stay healthy and that he has value in this offense..I have read that we will focus on running the ball so Long should have value but I wanna see the Old Jake Long, not the oft hurt- getting beat by sub par players Jake Long

I think Fasano should be taken off the list..He has shwon that when qb's have looked for him he can make plays..With Penny he played really well and Miami didnt even have a decent WR to speak of.

I think Oddrick and Wake should be taken off the list. Wake and Oddrick have shown to me that they can rush the passer and make plays against the Run...I understand that Wake just got a deal but he deserved it...As long as Miami does not ask them to do anything other than that I think they will both have productive seasons..I also expect Oddrick to lose weight and in reality if were going to be playing over and under fronts he will be lined up at around the 5 tech spot...So I dont believe he has to adjust to this scheme.

I think Tannehill has to be on this list. The guy was taken #9 over all and has experience with this playbook..He has huge expectations right now.

Wake is a great 3-4 OLB, but I have concerns with him in a 4-3. He has done well enough up to now against the run, but that was normally with that extra man on the line. I know we have seen him in the nickel a lot, but in those cases the run is not used at as high a percent of the time. I'm also concerned that some tackles are getting used to his low move on the speed rush and are just pushing down on top of him and stopping him completely.

That being said, Wake would not be in my "Top 10 list" of concerns....

He was brought here from Canada as a down lineman in a 4-3.

He will be the exact same player as he has been as a OLB. Nothing for him is going to change. Well at least that's my opinion

Also Volin's reasoning for Wake is just plain dumb. I expect better from Volin. A lot better

Cam Wake IS a 4-3 end. We are the ones who made him into a 3-4 OLB. He could have some big seasons playing back in his true position. Ad I'm with Hoops as far as he has little to prove.

I've always been a Fasano fan, it has always bugged me that Dolphin fans cannot seem to look beyond the simple stat of "catches per season".

IMO, with Sean Smith being in his final contract year he might have the most to prove. Is he going to be the very good corner that he could be or is he going to stay a knuckle head. He has a lot of money riding on this season.

J Odrick has to prove if he can be a 4-3 DE that we need. His was a pick that could have went for a play maker somewhere. Taking him was a good example of the old "best lineman available " theory in drafting we used to have.

K Misi was mistake IMO, we forced him into playing a position he was not suit for and we need to see if we can save the pick by him becoming a decent OLB in a 4-3.

With our new offense, I think it is going to give B Hartline a big boost while taking away the chances C Gates had based on pure speed alone.

J Jerry is a given. He needs to prove he can play in the NFL or he will be replaced by the start of the season.

This is also a huge season for Matt Moore. He has a older good veteran over one side and the "QB of the future" breathing down the other side of his neck. If he plays lights out he could start for a 2nd year as a Dolphin although that would depend on how well Tannehill does. I liked to see him signed as our back up QB but chances are he will want to go. He is in a almost no win situation.

Well big difference in canada is that there are only three downs so teams throw the ball alot. But wake has shown he is good against the run and that he is a force in a four point stance...so much that his first year he played with Miami and got five sacks was pretty much all out of the four point stance. As long as they have wake lined up wide he should be fine. Facing left tackles is going to be tough if he plays that side but he is still a beast

since when is fasano a good blocker? He's slow. Maybe that has to do with him not getting open or getting balls throw his way? he's not a good route runner as far as I can tell...he's just not that good of a player. Average at best. It's funny how all the moore homers are the ones touting this guy as good. The only person's opinion I respect is CK since he's typically pretty well thought out in what he says but that doesn't always mean he's right.

Anthony Fasano has always been a good blocker. I don't always agree with Pro Football Focus' ratings, but in this case I agree with them. Fasano is one of the few TEs they gave a significant positive grade in run blocking.

As far as Wake they had to force feed him the OLB position learning to drop into cover and the rest. His natural ability is full speed to the QB. DE in the 4 - 3 is a good match to his skills. It pissed me off last year when ever i saw Wake dropping into coverage as he was by far our best pass rusher.

fasano

fasano is one of the most underated players on our team by FAR

So you do not think he is a good blocker because he is slow? Really?

Maybe that has to do with him not getting open or getting balls throw his way? he's not a good route runner as far as I can tell..

I think you hit on the problem, you can't tell.

Thanks for your input, it will be filed and considered.

I don't know if Misi has the skills necessary to be a consistant pass rusher, im really hoping Vernon can be that guy
