I don't have Direct TV and I don't live in Florida. So, I had to resort to NFL.com to see "every play".

I know I am not the first to voice my displeasure at the quarterback position, but I think I may be the first to put up a number of how many passes he missed. He missed 11 open wide receivers. Eleven! Thats 38% of attempts. At least three of those would have resulted in touchdowns. That is unaccaptable.

In your review process did you take into account whether the receiver broke on time? Did the receiver read the hot read properly, or did the QB misread a hot read?

I think all this 2nd guessing from the outside is not a good thing to do. All I know is the play by play ppl on 790 seemed to think the receivers were not helping Gus out and were making obvious mistakes that caused the throws to look so bad.

totally agree. People want to point to our OL being bad. However, teams are stacking the LOS because they KNOW Gus cannot beat them with his arm.

Manning, even with Edge running crazy on teams, does NOT see the 8-9 man front Gus does. His OL does not get the pressure coming from EVERYWHERE, because the defense has ZERO respect for the QB. Just by having Manning at QB, the OL has it easier. And Manning IS a reason the OL doesn't give up sacks too often.

Our blocking problems are an EXTENSION of Gus' inability to throw accurate passes. No one is scared of him, so they play an aggressive defense, that has guys blitzing the run and pass, while playing very close to the LOS.

We need better QB play. Its our number 1 need.

Our offense is obviously not in synch.. There were multiple times last night where Gus threw the ball to no-one.. Absolutely no-one.
It could be receivers...It could be Gus... I believe there were too many to be coincidence.

Of course I was not able to take into account whether the receiver broke at the right time. But let me give you three examples. In the first quarter Chambers has a step on the defender down the sideline and Frerotte throws it out of bounds. Thats on the quarterback. In the second quarter Frerotte one hops a touchdown pass to Chambers. That is on the quarterback. Frerotte also overthrew an open Booker in the corner of the endzone. I realize he was under some pressure, but good quarterbacks put it close.

Most of the other passes were either overthrows or throws behind the wide receiver. Those are arguably almost always on the quarterback.

I have supported Gus for weeks now, but that performance puts me into the camp of "we are not going to will with Gus playing like this, so give Sage a shot."

Problem is, Gus has a history of not being good.

Its not like he is Tom Brady or McNabb or Manning or ANYONE good. He is a journeymen QB who has been inaccurate in the past.

So when we watch him play this way, its safe to assume its on HIM.

This isnt one week here. Ive seen him throw inaccurate deep passes since the preseason with us.

Its happening too often for it to be the WRs. Because you would have to assume ALL the WRs are running wrong routes and have problems with timing (including RB who had to DIVE for a 5 yard pass out of the backfield)

It just doesnt add up. Its the QB.

yeah, but if you are an accurate qb, you should have the ability to anticipate when to throw the ball or how hard or far, in according to how fast the receiver is moving. It's not even timing he is just so off on his throws.

Don't get me wrong. Out offensive line is poor. Especially run blocking. But, Frerotte is a liability. You know, a liability, kinda like every quarterback since Danny.

While that is true, the pass to Booker and the pass to Chambers in the endzone were flat out bad passes that would have resulted in 14 points. Chambers route was on a third and goal, so I'm sure he broke where he was supposed to, just inside the endzone. The ball was thrown to the turf in front of the endzone. Same think with Bookers route. Even if he broke a little early or late, a good QB would notice that and adjust, especially when he has the man wide open.

So does Ferrette as far as a rocket for a right arm ... Maybe we are all missing something ,perhaps this is the team saying they want sage in there...they saw him perform the best of our qb's in preseason and now when gus is given time he doesnt get the ball there, maybe the recievers are tired of his overthrown long balls?Methinks i smell a bit of a mutiny(sp) in the ranks,I say lets stick Sage in, this team has lost three of four and needs a spark,See how the players on offense respond,I mean seriously what do we have to lose?

My math tells me our over rated WR's play a significant role in this as well. Gus is partly to blame, but in no way do I think it is all him or even mainly him.

There are too many variables IMO for any one player to be the reason why this offense is struggling.

I'm just waiting for some Feeley haters to mention that Feeley could do a better job. Of which he could and has. Granted he was horrible in the last game of the preseason, but he out played Gus as a whole. Now that he is gone, it's time to see if Sage is ready to step up and be a leader.
