1994 Fins Vs. Jets tonight on nfln 7pm central

Some guy who played for the Jets in that game (sorry I didn't catch his name) said on Sirius radio the other day that it was the worst defeat he ever experienced as a football player at any level. Pete Carroll got fired...rich Kotite shows up....end of the Jests for years. Dan, you will always be da' man. Thanks to you also, Bernie.

You know watching this game brought back such great memories of how Marino could just absolutely carry this franchise on his back with zero help to a win.

At the same time realizing just how little talent this organization was able to put around Marino just brings back all the frustration I so vividly remember feeling during these years.

God the team as a whole during Marino's years were just abysmal.
He never had help from the defensive side, never had a running back and late in his career never had any elite WR to work with. Sad realization.

This game was just a prime example of how sad it was.
That defense had zero secondary talent and probably the worst D-Coordinator ever to step on a field.

In addition his starting RB is a walk on guy who worked at UPS.

Usually I'm one to argue a team win/loss percentage cannot be credited to one player's influence, but Marino truly did carry this team almost his entire career.

Fond memories of his talent and extreme dissapointment to how this organization completely wasted it.

i forgot how crazy this game was...we made boomer fumble 3 plays in a row and couldn't recover any of em...then we force em to punt, mcduff fumbles they get it (shmets luck)...then on the next drive boomer throws an int

It was one of the worst games I have ever seen(and I was sitting in the corner of the EZ where the play happened) BUT it was a GOOD thing in the long run for the Jets. That playe helped us get out of the dark ages. We were stuck in a cycle of mediocrity, alternating btw awful seasons and seaosns where we got close but missed the playoffs. We couldn't really get over the hump. '87 bad, '88 miss playoffs by 1 game, '89 awful, '90 getting better, '91 made playoffs w/ 8-8 record, '92 awful, '93 miss playoffs by 1 game. That play and collapse down the stretch cost Pete Carroll his jpb and we hired Kotite then bottomed out which forced Leon hess to do something which was going out and getting Bill Parcells which turned us around basically for good. last year was the first healthy year since that time that we stunk but for most of the last decade we have been one of the better AFC teams and the fake spike is owed alot of thanks for that.

the good old days!.....when we used to beat up on those airplanes

That game was in '94 and from '91 to '95 the Jets went 6-4 against Miami despite how bad we were most of those years so you didn't really beat up on us in those days.

Knowing the outcome and final score of the game watching it in full I still hated every time we let the Jets score........:err:
