Someone go back and check the 1999 Rams coaching staff. If I am not mistaken, they had a hell of a coaching staff built of several former NFL coaches. I really see a development here, I can see us being really special next year!!!! :dolphins:

There's nothing wrong with being optimistic.
He is a dumb Jet fan what more do you except? :sidelol: :sidelol:

Arrrrrgh!

Guys, please don't do this to me ever again ... I'm about to agree with a Jets fan for Christ's sake!!!

WE DON'T HAVE A GOOD QB YET.

... therefore we can't be compared to that juggernaut offense at this time!

I think you're referring to the original staff that Vermeil brought in with him in 1997 when he returned to coaching, which included Bud Carson and Jim Hanifan if I'm not mistaken. Remember though, that staff was considered a laughingstock of "old timers" in '97 and '98 when the Rams were horrible, and Vermeil was on the verge of being run out of St. Louis on a rail. They suddenly became "great" during the magical season of '99, and I believe that at least one of the ex-head coaches on that staff had already resigned by then. I would rank Saban's staff way ahead of that Rams group, since if it wasn't for a guy named Warner, they probably would have duplicated pretty much the same results they'd produced the previous 2 years.

The 99 Rams had a guy that was bagging groceries...

Actually...i agree with ..*shudder*...the jets fan. People are going a bit overboard on this forum the past couple of days.

The past couple days?

I go to many fan boards, and this is by far the most, Ill be nice, "optimistic" board around.

Mularkey is a God, Capers is a God, to go along with Saban, who is greater than a God.

Give me a break. I come here to see whats up with a rival team and all I see is *** kissing, not much football talk.

Yeah Yeah, Jauron Sucks, hahaha, try talking some football.

I know the thread is about coaching similarities, but let's be honest, players had ALOT to do with the 1999 Rams' success. So, why don't we fill in the blanks to see if the "1999 Rams = 2006 Dolphins" really applies.

Rams 1999 = Dolphins 2006
Warner = Frerotte
I Bruce = Chambers
Faulk = Brown / Williams
Wistrom = J Taylor
Dre Bly = Madison
Kevin Carter = Carter
London Fletcher = Z Thomas
Az Hakim = Welker
Torry Holt = Booker
Chad Lewis = McMike
Little = K Traylor
Dex McCleon = T Daniels
T Nutten = Carey
O Pace = D Mac
Proehl = Gilmore
Zgonina = Zgonina
J Williams = Bowens

Hmm....

Do you even bother to look in the other forums, or do you just check the main page? There's plenty of good football talk in the draft, free agent, etc. forums. This one is mainly generic stuff...
