First off I'd just like to say I feel that anyone who feels this is going to be an easy win and expects Miami to beat up on Buffalo like 41-7, you are kidding yourselves. This will be a good game, probably decided by 3 or 7 points. Remember the Bills beat us once last year and it took a miraculous comeback to beat them at home. The Bills have a top running back, fast WR's (that could give the secondary that made Charlie Batch look like a pro bowler some problems), and a solid defense. With that being said they have average at best offensive and defensive lines and a mistake prone QB who likes like he could be big trouble if he's on. Here are the 2 area's we shuld defenitly improve on is we a truly a good football team.

1. The running game. We should be able to run on the Bills. I saw NE open up some holes you could drive a car though. We have struggled running the ball and I agree that playing Pittsburgh (week 1) and Carolina (week 3 of the preseason), 2 teams that have very good defensive lines and LB's, is a good reason for that. No excuses this week, if we can't establish a running game on Buffalo it will oficially be a concern IMHO.

2. Blitz packages. I know we had 3 sacks vs Pittsburgh which is very respectable but I felt like our blitzers were running into the line on many occasions. Our secondary isn't good enough right now to take a guy out of coverage and not get any pressure on the QB. If our blitzes keep getting picked up so easily we will need to blitz less often. Buffalo's O-LINE should have all kinds of problems picking up these blitzes.

I'm not worried about Daunte yet as I posted many times I thought he might struggle early on. I am not surprised he did. His accuracy must improve but he did a fantastic job at getting rid of the football in the face of the blitz. The Steelers would have had about 10 sacks if Gus or Fiedler were back there.

Good Post. I too believe we have to be concerned. But as confident as Bill fans. Our secondary I believe will be the key. I think we are a fairly rounded team. But if we can get the communication so talked about happening. We have a shot.
add to the fact that we can be sure Daunte is going to be working on his timing... got the first game jitters out of the way.... we may have a better shot. Now i dont pretend that our O-line at this point rivals NEs, but if we can get on a roll... look out.

nice write-up. I agree Buffalo will be tough, and I'm sure the team isn't taking them lightly

They actually were beating up NE pretty well except for a few errors. I also must state and agree, Daute had to get the jitters out as i have stated earlier.

They had better not take them lightly. A loss will put us 2 games back after 2 games which is not good. The Pats or Jets will be 2-0 as they play each other.

Good thoughts. I don't think it will be a "concern" if we don't run well against Buffalo. Last year it took 8-10 games for the O-line to finally come together consistently. I don't think it will take that long this year. But, I do think it will require 3-4 games playing together. I wouldn't doubt we may start 3-3. I look for a win in a close game against the Bill.s

Point 2 is very important. I'm surprised that our blitz packages did not do well. If you look at those versus what the Steelers did - there's a big difference. Of course, it could be that their OL was just much better than ours was - that we did not pickup guys - I did notice that a couple of times (a lineman double teamed another player and didn't see the blitz coming).

They were not great QBs but give them the credit they deserve. Gus played behind the same line and wasn't sacked very often. Jay played behind a less talented O-Line and Wise as coach. He wasn't sacked very often, too.

From Miami's perspective it should be Miami run game vs Buffalo D-line (agree with you there.) But i think the other positive matchup for Miami will be run defense vs Buffalo O-line. The Buffalo pass protection has been pretty solid so far, and JP has done a good job of avoiding sacks when someone gets through (sans the safety in the NE game.)

What Miami should be worried about is the long ball (DB's looked very shakey last week.) And Buffalo's pass defense (not all the blame goes on Daunte; there were a couple catchable balls last week that the recievers straight up dropped.) Again, and i think this will be a theme Miami fans will be harping on all year because of the tendencies of the guy calling the plays, the TE has to be involved in the passing game more. And you have to stick with the running game for 4 quarters. Since i know how that blockhead calls games, i don't expect either to happen and i think it will be a low scoring game, Buffalo pulls away 4th quarter.

it should be a very interesting game.

Your OL vs. our speed on D.

Your very experienced DL vs. our young OL and qb.

I worry about Brown more than I do Culp. I was imprressed by your pass protection but not impressed with Culp's arm. If we can get to Culp all day we have a shot but I'm sure Saban will pick on the Chambers vs. Clements match up.

We're in trouble if Willis can't run . I expect more from him this game and I expect Jauron to test your db's. Should be a good game.

our best players need to step up

Chambers,

McMichael

Brown. nuff said.

were not winning any games when our TE has one or two catches for 20 yards. and our top wr has 50 yards. sorry guys our best need to play like it.

and our line needs to create some room for ronnie or give ronnie 25-30 touches to wear em down.

playcalling needs to be better and more balanced. And our secondary just needs to not take stupid penalties.

I think most of this will happen
