let me first say I like Randy & really like the hiring of Cam. But they have put themselves in a real bind IMO.

If getting Trent Green for a 6th or 7th was a sure thing & they are committed to either a Quinn, Edwards, Stanton or even Kolb I think they are ok. But i suggested a couple of things more than once.

First I predicted DC was a non-factor due to his injury & questionability due to this offense & recent past performance. I stated that Lemon was a non-factor as a starter. If the Green thing does not happen at all or they are forced into giving up a higher pick it was a bad move.

The 2 big mistakes involved Harrington & Carr.

Keeping Harrington was a big insurance policy. Yes he had his issues, but he played well at times in a miserable offense & was 100% healthy. Cam as a QB guru could have got the most out of him I believe. Plus he was a younger stopgap to the future QB.

I was angry about that, then Carr becomes available for no compenstaion. I thought WOW! Even better. I like him for all the reasons others have also given plus he is young & would have a chance to excel under a good offensive coach or be a stop gap & possibly remain as a quality back up to the future QB for several years after.

They did neither & have very limited options now. Bad decisions made on both.

Why would we want a young Qb with a strong arm , when we can give up draft picks to aquire a 37 year old qb with a high salary, rung bell and a noodle arm to go with that. LAst year was a fluke I'm sure at 37 he will bounce back to pro bowl from his awful year, happens all the time.

we have our insurance policy he knows cams offense already his name......Cleo Lemon

These are really tough decisions and you may well be correct. I am taking the optomistic approach which is,,,,cam felt that harrington would not do well in this system, therfore better to cut ties and move on,,,,same with carr, with carr i also believe, as stated in other posts, that if kubiak did not want him then he is flawed to a degree where he can not be a franchise qb....This is what i tell myself in order to keep the faith and remain optomistic...I must admit that you may well be correct on both points, time will tell

I would feel alot better if we had one of them & not possibly give up more than what Green is really worth.

You ignore the fact that Cam fired Harrington. There goes the "Cam can coach him up" idea right there. Cam didn't want him on the team. Cam and Randy also did not pursue Carr for a reason. 1 star for you!

very few qb's , well pretty much all of them not named Peyton , will not excell without a solid o line.

Lets fix that problem so whoever the qb is come week one has some confidence in front of him

Carr=harrington Enough Said! We Want Trent Green And Brady Quinn!!!!!!!!!!!!

The front office has depleted the QB position, true enough. We'll find out this weekend how their able to start replenishing.

If we go from Culpepper/Harrington/Lemon to Culpepper/Lemon/Draftee, I hope that draftee is someone special. Perhaps sometime after the draft we'll have Green/Lemon/Draftee. Not exactly setting the world on fire at QB with that lineup, but the new front office should get time to see whether their decisions work out for the best. I'm hopeful.

One thing you have to consider is Cam wants Green to help teach and implement his offens to the rest of the team. Its a lot easier if the QB is'nt the one screwing up but instead helping the other players along.

I really don't like the Idea of bringing in Trent Green. I'd rather give Cleo his shot as a full time starter than Green, and No I'm not saying I think for sure that Cleo will be that great, but I just don't see Green doing well at all for us. Either way though I don't think we will have That high of a pick next year because I think our defense will carry us to some victory's by itself.

I believe the thought process is to bring in Green to tutor our young draft pick! Pep is not a teacher and Harrington and Carr have to much to prove. I like the ideas that the brain trust seems to be having!

Are you an NFL GM?

What makes you an expert? How many pro bowlers have you drafted? "Mistakes"? How can you determine if a move is a mistake at this point in time?

Rookies...geez.
