hypothetically say we traded denver, ricky for a first straight up.
would you guys be opposed to drafting lendale white with one of those picks and say maybe lawson, greenway, huff or someone else with the other?
 
If we trade Ricky we'll have to find a back up runner at some point. Grabbing one in the first round might be a bit of a reach though considering we have bigger needs.

That being said, if Ricky was shipped out and the value was there NOTHING Saban does would shock me....value is the key and that is why we WILL win and win big with him controlling things.
 
Jerrious Norwood would be a great backup plan in the late rounds.
 
i would like getting lendale white with the later pick if he was there ...we could hold another team hostage for him or we could keep him because he will be a good nfl back and it would make more sense to split carries with him and ronnie then ricky and ronnie because ricky and ronnie have pretty much the same running style
 
I suggested the LenDale thing and got hammered for it, but if we're talking about simply a backup runner, then I'd rather have a smaller speedy guy. If we were planning on running the ball 40 times a game though, then there wouldn't be a more feared duo than Brown and White. We could call them the twinkies or something :lol:

Training Camp? We wouldn't know that until we picked him. I like going with Lendale in the first (we could sign him to a cheap contract for 4 years) but I doubt we get a first rounder for Ricky. Travis Henry, another proven guy who was younger at the time, merited only a second rounder (granted he was up for a larger contract than Ricky is right now, and it is arguable that Ricky is a much better talent, but Ricky also has commitment and age questions about him)

harris is already on our practice squad. taking a RB for a 2nd straight year in the first round? flashes of millen.

hmm...well from waht i know White has the same style as RW as well and RB which is power his butt through the middle. I'd rather have a Bell type tandum. A speedy break through the secondary quick as* RB.
