I am not making excuses for how poorly we looked, however I will say that 2 plays changed the flow of the game that I think would have had an impact in our favor and we all may have been feeling just a little better this morning.

1. Blocked punt then fumble recoverd by TB (Nice block by Cobbs)

2. The horrible pass interference call on Hartline on our 2nd drive - (I believe.)

I understand that is apart of the game but remember it is the preseason.

Also: I live in AL so this was the 1st game that I was able to watch, but a few guys impressed me last night. (just my opinion)

Quenten Moses
Cam Wake
Brian Hartline

Yeah those plays definitely changed something...at least the flow of my mood during the game, lol.

On the blocked punt, I wonder if it was more a case of Anderson not knowing the rules, not knowing where he was on the field, or thinking it would be an easy catch. None of those possibilities negate the fact it was a total bonehead play on his part and basically nullified a tremendous play by our special teams ace.

Honestly, being one of the folks who rarely gets to see Phins games on TV except for when they're televised nationally, this game reminded me that we have generally sucked on national TV over the last several years. No wonder we don't get respect. I'll bet many of the "pundits" and talking heads don't watch the games that aren't televised nationally. Buck and Aikman were sort of gushing about "seeing the Dolphins and the wildcat live"...how disappointing that must have been for them. Think either of them will be showering praise on the Phins in the near future?

The game was very vanilla on offense and defense last night. Very basic offensive plays with no wildcat or reverses and the defense did some basic blitzing packages and very basic cover packages.

Buck and Aikman kind of annoyed me last night, it's like they didn't realize it was the preseason. I feel like all they were saying is both teams are horrible and need a lot of work - it's the preseason guy's that's what it's for.

For the gazillionth time, Hartline's Pass Int. call was legit. He fully extended and pushed off.

I took the liberty of fixing that for you. No hard feelings? :)

charlie anderson

They should release Charlie Anderson this week. He is on the bubble, and it sends a good message about situational awareness. Anderson's inability to take the correct actions ruined a very good play by Cobbs. Finally, We have plenty of young developing talent at OLB.

as bad as we looked, wat im more upset about from lastnite was the fact that i couldve gone out with my girlfriend and prob gotten some after, but instead i blew her off to watch this crap in the preseason. if we countinue to play like this then its gonna be a long season.

The thing i find most concerning about the game is that we got zero pressure in our base D. When Leftwich can stand around and eat a sandwich in the pocket I start to wonder if age is catching up to taylor and porter this year. Seemed like Wake, Moses and the younger guys were the only ones getting any pressure on the QB.

Nate Jones is like a cruise missile on the blitz, he seems to always blow the QB up when he brings the heat.

Most definately.

To be fair Leftwich can eat a sandwich just about anywhere.

this is a good point...i think after that some guys may have lost some intensity like "COME ON WE CANT GET A BREAK" and after those two plays we completely lost momentum because both allowed them to hold the ball forever.

I agree and their not excuses. I mean our best drive of the first half had to be halted due to lightning.
