Why oh why did we go for 2 when it was 12-0 early in the game? Points are so hard to come by and we all know we cant score in the red zone.

Then for Denver's 2 point conversion, everyone in the world (except Sparano, Nolan, and our defense) knew Tebow was going to run.

I know it's beating a dead horse. But Sparano is worse and worse every week. More wasted timeouts. More sitting on the football at the end of halfs. Just cant take it anymore.

i called the tebow run on the broncos 2 pt try befor they got in the huddle. surprised nolan didnt catch that lmao. by the way nolan is a phony.

Because a 14-point lead is more valuable than a 13-point lead. Pretty much every coach in the league goes for 2 in that situation.

There's been plenty of crappy decisions made by Sparano. This is not one of them.

Yea no one saw that coming .... all you do is go wide formation and there is nobody behind the D linemen. Easy call.

You've got to admit after four years Parcells and crew have left us with two very good kickers to build a team around
:rolleyes2:

Going for 2 NEVER works for Phins just other Teams vs. Fins...

I would to see stats on how many 2 points Fins have gotten and how many Teams have scrored on them...
It never seems to work for Dolphins just about Every team vs. them it does...
How many times from 5 yrds out will the QB run up the middle???.
Texans Game in Houston last time,Jets last week...Tebow today....?????????

You're out of your mind.
ASSININE ... that's the only word to describe it. You go up 13-0 and play the game out from there.
No reason in the world to try to go up 14-0. As it turns out, that point cost them the game.

This always happens to us when teams spread us out. Tebow, Sanchez, A. Rogers, and I remember Schaub did it to us a couple years ago.

If it was 12-7 with the extra point pending, fine, go for 2. But the fact that it was 12-0, you take the easy 1 and make it 13 points. Especially when you're a FG lover and you know you will probably get another FG and not a TD. Simple math.

Those proclaiming the decision to go for the 2 point conversion as the "right" decision are flat out WRONG. The outcome of this game provides proof as to why.

You have to consider how much time is left in the game. If the decision came with little time left in the 4th quarter (which means limited possessions remaining), it becomes a better call. However, with 14:54 still to go, it is WAY to early to start chasing points as there is a lot of time for both teams to score several times. Because of that, you continue to kick extra points. You don't go for 2 until you have to or if time / possessions are a factor. Anybody that believes time / possessions were a factor with essentially an entire quarter still to play and only a 12-point lead are flat out crazy. The correct decision was to kick the extra point.

Now, while naysayers may say that kicking the extra point didn't in any way guarantee a victory, it does increase the odds of actually winning the game. Using this game as an example, the Broncos would have had to convert two 2-pt conversions in order to tie. While they could have done it, the percentages were much lower.

Lastly, let's suppose Sparano made the correct decision and kicked the extra point but that they never got the last FG (something that wouldn't have been on Sparano's mind when he made the decision). It is not out of the realm that the Broncos could have kicked 2 FG's to go along with a TD to tie the game. 14:54 is certainly enough time for that to occur. So the argument that Sparano wanted a 14-point lead because the Broncos wouldn't have enough time for 2 FG's and a TD is totally flawed.

Face it. Kicking the XP was statistically the correct thing to do. That's exactly why former Head Coaches Bill Cowher and Tony Dungy questioned it, along with several others in the CBS/Fox studios.
