First the most obvious is the secondary and I am not sure the signing of Will Allen is the answer here. I just read where Asante Samuel maybe on the trading block prior to the deadline, why not make a run at him, he would be a huge upgrade, knows the Patriots plays and is a pro bowler. Next, we have to establish the running game and need a FB to be the lead blocker or when in single back formation, use 2 TE's. I wouldn't mind seeing Losaka Polite resigned if possible here or somebody else with a good rep for blocking.

First of all, never going to happen, we need pass rushers more than DBs especially if you're talking about trading picks. Why that's is most peoples solution around here I don't know but I'd rather hold on to the picks.

Second, he's 30 and this regime won't sign or trade for someone that old (unless he was here at some point during this regimes tenure like Jason Taylor or Will Allen).

Third, Asante Samuel hasn't been in New England in 4 years. How would he know anything about what New England is doing now? You do know they switched to a 4-3 this year? That they've been through 2 OCs since Samuel left?

The next matchup is in snowy New England in late December in probably sub-zero weather.

we dont need lousaka poulite and he was a poor lead blocker last year anyways. what we need is simply a willingness to actually line up and run the ball on third or fourth and short. if u arent willing to run it, personal doesnt matter. lex hillard did a nice job on his carry in short yardage and converted. then later in the game we put solai in, which might not be a bad idea, but in this particular case all he did was plug the lanes and didnt get his hands on anybody or move the pile, so lex just ended up running up his backside and we didnt convert.

we have to be willing to run it. we just simply need to be tough in those situations. LJ seems to have a knack for those situations as well. they need to do it. they need to give the guys they have a shot to succeed

How about having Larry Johnson and Reggie Bush or Daniel Thomas lining up in goal line or short yardage situations and having Johnson be the fullback?

Daboll dropped the ball on his fourth and goal call, I would have LJ in there and hand it off to him or would've thrown a screen pass to Reggie in the flat.

A running game would mean a change in OL for the better...don't count on it...

Pass Rushers? Really?? How about somebody who can cover??
I don't expect any corner, in the history of the NFL, to be able to stick a receiver when the QB has more than 5 seconds to throw the ball. Brady was standing flat footed waiting for someone to get open on at least a half dozen occasions. They brought in a backup Center after Koppen went down and we still couldn't penetrate their O-line. Without consistent pressure all of our DBs are going to look bad...count on it.

Not one Wild Cat play was called, was it because Daniel Thomas was hurt? That might have had the Patriots guessing and made them call a T.O. on that fourth down play.

The Patriots used the TE to add an extra blocker so the Dolphins couldn't over load the line. The DB's were dreadful to say the least and deserve most of the blame.

Most of Brady's completions were short and intermediate throws and he got rid of it quickly mostly to the TE'S.

I really want to know how you guys feel about trading for Asante Samuel, he seems to make big plays in the secondary something we lacked Monday Night.

i dont care how they do it. just do it. u know i firmly believe in getting the players that make plays the ball in those situations, larry johnson has done it. he has a nose for the end zone. why are we throwing fades to hartline? its like the fade to bess a year ago. that just doesnt make sense. and hartline doesnt have the best hands either. i wouldnt trust him there. just run the ball. pass it up and down the field. but u get a first and goal inside the 5? u gotta be able to pound the rock. regardless of ur system.

I agree, even if you go with this call, why not throw it to your biggest WR Brandon Marshall on the fade??
