[intro]Wannstedt Likes McKinney
Miami Dolphins head coach Dave Wannstedt has been very impressed with the play of the team's 3rd round draft choice, C Seth McKinney. Wannstedt said he feels McKinney is as mature a player as he's ever seen coming out of college, and while McKinney played center in college, Wannstedt feels he could also handle the guard position. Wagstaff & Jackson Released
The Miami Dolphins have released injured OG James Wagstaff. Should Wagstaff clear waivers, he will be put on the Dolphins' reserve/non-football injury list. They also waived OT Jerry Jackson.

Thanks for the update AJ!!!! It's no wonder Jackson was released. The NFL Europe team he was playing for released him because he wasn't good enough there.

I think that it was wrong to release Wagstaff after he was just in a serious car crash. It is low, but still not as low as the release of Robert Edwards right after he came back by New England last year. That was just wrong after he had worked so hard.

Even if a team releases an injured player, they still have to reach an injury settlement if the player is not picked up. If a guy is not going to make the team in the coach's eyes, why not release him?
He is still going to get paid either way.

You can't carry him forever just because he got messed up in a car crash...

Heck, the team paid for all of his operations and everything, didn't they? That should be enough...
